The front looks "Cadillac" like...looks more muscular overall ..... I would still prefer the old Camry "widebody" looks!

the car looks very very neat.. but i think the price is the issue here.. i think that the price is tooo high for its range.. i would rather go in for a Accord V6 rather than putting in soo much money for just a CAMRY!

What Say Guys??!

Yep .. saw a chauffer driven sky blue one on road out here. Looks pretty good (am yet to get used to the bonnet shape). But does look a lot better - proportionate and taut - than the outgoing model.

Saw 3 Camrys. 2 white and one blue.
Saw the blue one in the night but didn't like it alot but liked the white one.
Would have been a serious competitor but with an ex showroom price of 21.4 for the Auto, it comes to around 27L on road company and for that price, i would rather get a second hand E220 CDI W211.
Cheers.

I think the Camry's design is rather nice and it does have a lot of BMW 7-series touches especially in the sides & boot design a.k.a. Bangle Butt.

But even for all the new design, space, interiors etc. I am not able to justify the prices that they are charging for it. I mean in Delhi the OTR price for the Accord 2.4 is around 15.5L and the ex-showroom Camry is 19+Insurance+Registration+Road Tax etc. which equals to somewhere around 21-22L and that for me is the killer. Why would I pay 6-7L extra for a car which is sold at the same price as an Accord in other markets?

BTW the Accord V6 has also gone expensive now due to the Duty Hike on CBU's and last I heard the price is now above 20L.

Accords are selling so much that nowdays nobody bothers having a second look.
This could be the only reason why people will buy camry... just to stand out from the crowd.

Very few Camry's till date. But I repeat its a beauty from the front, but equally bad tail-lights. Anyways, here is a wallpaper size pic for Camry lovers.

Toyota Camry
1280x960
Approx 320kb

Funnily enough I've seen the new Camry in India but not a single one here in Dubai. The same car is out as the Lexus ES300, though.

Maybe they want to shed the Taxi image, and in any case the Sonata has replaced the Mondeo and the Camry as the new Taxi favourite.

I am sure it has been commented upon widely before, but I can never digest paying much more for a car in India (which is probably not even as well manufactured) than in the US, with a far lower income. 20 L for a camry-that is almost $45000!

Thats the whole point. Camry still comes in CBU and thus has high cost disadvantage. What about the rest of the cars, most have big margins when compared to the price payed for them in US and europe.

Rs 21 lacs for a friggin Camry . Oh My God. That's almost double the price they have here in Canada. Rs 21 lacs = Cad $52,500 = Fully loaded BMW 3-Series. Why are they totally ripping off the Indian customers?
