But do explore the rest of Delhi in this weather.
Its the best in this season in such weather.
For people who were there on Thursday AND Friday, was the crowd less chaotic on Thursday?
I have one of those Free Passes from Mahindra. First one to PM their email address to me gets it!
Who wants it? :)

Have sent you a PM. Hope Im first in line. :)
Cheers,

I visited t AutoExpo today. Had booked my tickets through Book my show. Once out one of the metro station, we were directed to gate number 7 for getting a physical ticket.
The problem started here. There was a huge line running to several hundred meters for getting the physical pass. Add to it, there was just one counter for getting the tickets. The experience was horrible.
For those visiting tomorrow, I would suggest purchasing fresh tickets from the Metro Station. It'll save a lot of time and inconvenience.
I had received a mail previously by Mahindra team. It said that I have won a free pass for the expo. :I Rule:
How many of you got this mail today by the same team,
Dear customer,
You may have received an e-mail notifying you as the winner of a pass for Auto Expo 2012. We regret to inform that the mail was sent erroneously due to a technical error. The actual winners are contacted directly through phone informing them to collect their pass.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
Regards,
Mahindra Team
What a bummer really! :Frustrati
I had to stand in a 100 metre long queue at Gate 7 today morning, just to get my online tickets exchanged for physical passes.:Frustrati The show was well worth it though. Anyone who bought the physical tickets elsewhere - could you please elaborate on how you got those and at which gate? How bad was the queue at the metro station?
P.S - the online tickets for tomorrow are sold out as of now, on bookmyshow

Get the ticket early morning around 8 -9 am from least loaded metro. Like I took it from Inder lok station. Or some where else. I took the tickets at 8:30 am and I was the only one taking ticket at that stations.
Hi Guys,
I also went to the Auto Expo today and went thru the same experience when collecting the online tickets - had to wait almost 50 minutes in the line to collect the tickets. The way that they have managed the ticketing process in really pathetic. The irony is that counter tickets were not limited and they must have allowed at least 350,000 people into the venue. It was an absolute mad rush and some of the stalls were in near stampede situation. Any members planning to take their kids to Auto Expo, please do not take them , as it is an extremely crowded venue.
Personally, this is my 4th visit to an Auto Expo (have gone every time in the past 8 years!) and this one was the worst managed and most crowded one.
Anyway, the good thing is that the organizers have decided to pull out of Pragati Maidan for 2014 and it will be held at a new venue!
Regards,
Behemoth
I went to Autoshow today. Reached pragati maidan at 9:15 AM and could get tickets within 20 minutes. There was so much crowd inside the expo. Very long queques especially in Volkswagen and Mercedez.

They say this every time at the Expo mate. But even they know they can't shift to anyother venue as pragati maidan is the only place in Delhi to offer such a hue space and different gates and other facilities. Ofcourse even all that seems less with the huge number of people attending. But I think that they should really start acting like professionals and take some basic steps:
1. Limit the number of passes. The days made for the Media should be the days ONLY for the media. The Indian mentality of Jugaad and using influence has to be dealt with strictly.
2. Raise the ticket prices to 3-4k for the premium hours. The real Automobile lover will feel better shelling out that much if he can go there and enjoy the expo without having to jostle with the crowd. 90% of the public there is to time pass and check out the models.

+1
I had been posting exactly this eventuality on this thread and multiple stinkers/calls to BMS never got me a satisfactory response. That sealed my decision to skip it!

Ditto - this is the 1st one I am missing and gladly so! I'm surprised about the counter tickets being unlimited - makes us online customers feel cheated. Infact, BMS repeatedly emailed that their counters will open only at 10 ... #$*#$*#($*#$!!

Jesus - i'm sure the BMS guys must have been fedup watching the counter lines move MUCH faster :p
Anyone going during the premium hours tomorrow (Monday) please post your experience with respect to redeeming of online ticket and magnitude of crowd. I have booked for Tuesday with my son, so very eager to know.
^
I too am planning for Tuesday (tomorrow) and would book online if experience posted is good for today (Monday). Awaiting...
Just got the following apology mail from book my show :-
Sub : Sorry to keep you waiting for your Auto Expo Pass
Dear Customer,
We are sorry for the long wait you had to put up with in the course of collecting your passes from our "Pickup Counters". As the Auto Expo organizers had hugely delayed delivery of tickets and notification of pickup location it caused an inordinate wait at our counters. We sincerely apologize for hauling up your time. Prompt ticket collection has always been a priority with us and will continue to be. We assure you a hassle free acquisition of passes the next time around. Thank you for co-operating with us and aiding us in serving you better.
Keep Booking
Regards
