Re: If I could only own ONE car...

With the heavy monsoon and the roads around like this, I will go with the new Range Rover Sport V6 Diesel Autobiography Dynamic. This is will be at home just everywhere. Wedding, plantations, highways, traffic, oh the list goes on!

Do I need to pay for this? Oh well then,

Re: If I could only own ONE car...

I will prefer my Dzire only

I am using it for last 4 years in Pune and I am completely satisfied with it. Reasons are -

1 Its a Maruti. SO no headache. A.S.S. is good. Reliability is very high. Never gave any problem on a go.
2 It is economical. I hardly spend 4-5 K max for regular maintenance. Average is also good, so not heavy running costs.
3 Suited for highway trips as well. Due to its large boot (450+ lit), i can carry 8 days luggage for my family.
4 Easy to drive in city & for parking.

Also one more most important reason. It is with me in real world. Not like i am owning it in dreams only or i wish i can have it. So it is equivalent to any other good car in the market for me

Re: If I could only own ONE car...

If i had to choose one, I do choose something which is reliable and also sets my pants on fire. It should be a fantastic family workhorse, but also shouldn't look massive for a single driver.
Hence, I would go for a Evoque. It is fast enough and big enough to be the car which would be used for all purposes. I can also use it for some offroading action if the needs be. The gadgets loaded in the car are also to my fancy and me being a gadget guy It seems the perfect car for myself and my family.

For me its always be Ford Fusion if it has to be a Single Car.

If budget is not a problem any car with V O L V O written on it will do.

V40 Cross Country = A class + 40 BHP and 100 Nm torque + extra safety & fancy features

No offence mate. It's just my opinion on both cars, and for me it is V40 Cross Country

I think the Baleno won that comparision test. The Palio also did pretty well.

Re: If I could only own ONE car...

I was having this discussion with a couple of other bhpians a few days back during a meet. As per me if budget is not a restriction and the car is self driven, in the city, used for market runs, parking is also an issue and also needs to be used on the highway occasionally. I would any day go in for the newly launched Merc A Class.

Guys if you think about it practically and not which car would you dream to own or fantasize about. The A Class would check all boxes. Its perfect if self driven, auto transmission and smaller size for city driving and no parking issues, Mercedes build quality and reliability and also solidly built to be used on the highway and comes with all the safety features. Rear seats are also not as cramped as the certain less expensive hatchbacks on the roads so it will fit the rear passengers also comfortably. Lastly i think it looks hot and has the three pointed star so it will also turn heads and give your ego a good massage.

Re: If I could only own ONE car...

If money is not the concern, then my choice would be the Toyota LandCruiser, something similar to the below,

Pic Courtsey - Google.

I agree with you on all of them. It surely looks marvelous inside and outside and it is a head-turner too. But, what about the engine power and the basic reverse camera mate? In terms of power, it is least in the competition. 108 BHP on a diesel and 122 BHP on a petrol for a 30 lac car?

I've had a TD of both petrol and diesel, and I felt my Verna Fluidic in diesel and my Civic AT in petrol can beat both of those respective variants.

Being an auto enthusiast, that's the only part I was completely disappointed with A class. End of the day, we need a vehicle that is fun to drive right?

Re: If I could only own ONE car...

Money no constraint, I'd settle for a red BMW 328i. Reasons? There are many:-
  • Stonking Petrol Engine
  • Part family car, part sports car
  • Impressive ride quality
  • Breadth of dynamic ability
  • Better FE than M5 or for instance, M3 sedan
  • Just the right, compact size for city errands

If I could only own ONE car...-image.jpg

Highway drive, anyone?

Keep revvin'

Toyota land cruiser V8 diesel. Legendary. Go anywhere. Reliable. Widespread service network. Snob value. Luxury. Can handle the INDIAN conditions with ease. True off road capabilities.
