Woohoo! Good news, and the CCI penalty on car makers (for monopolistic trade practices in the supply of spare parts) is having a much desired effect!

Ford customers can now breathe a little easy after their warranty expires as they don't have to depend on the Ford Authorised Dealerships for genuine parts (and get saddled with inflated bills).

It's good that the facility is located on Greams Road (almost bang in the middle of Chennai) making it quite accessible. Conversely, the downside of this is finding a parking spot - it's an active wheel-lock/tow-away zone for the traffic police. I should know, I've got fined here. Do exercise caution on where you park when you go to buy parts from this place.

I hope they expand the network soon, and that other manufacturers also follow suit.

Does anybody know when a counter is opening in Hyderabad? I'd surely like to avail of that facility, not because I'm cut up with Ford A.S.S., but because it is a bloody pain to drop my car there for service: the Metro construction is playing havoc with traffic.

That is some great news for people who plan to open their own car workshop after retirement I am one of the budding entrepreneurs in this field.

A big thank you to the CCI.

Hope other car manufacturers as Skoda follow suit. Toyota also provides them.

But there is another major problem that the CCI has overlooked(I got this information from a reputed Express Car Service Garage)-Mostly big car manufacturers as Toyota do not provide major parts as brake pads, drive shafts, clutch plates to customers on the pretext of Spare Parts Scarcity.

Only air filters, oil filters and spark plugs are readily available. This information was provided by a reputed, trusted mechanic. Other Toyota car owners on this forum may share their experiences.

Eminent in Delhi does not retail to customers. And their website eminentautoparts.in says "OH NO YOU DON'T. YOU HAVE THINGS TO DO. GET OFF THE INTERNET." lol

I checked with Gautambudh Ford in Noida and they said Ford does not have counter sales for its spares.

I am seriously looking for genuine OEM parts outside dealership. Recently, I wanted to buy replacement sun visor with vanity mirror for EcoSport passenger side. They quoted 1600+ taxes.

Has anybody tried buying spare parts over the counter and getting the service done by a FNG? My 1st gen fiesta is due for service next week and I am expecting a hefty bill because it has completed 5 yrs and SA might push for changing engine timing belt, drive belt and engine coolant.

I usually get things from them directly (actually FNG gets it directly) and get my fiesta serviced at FNG. You can call them over phone and ask for prices its the same what you get. I got drive belt from them. For friend we got Suspension link rod, Clutch assembly (diesel) from them.

I doubt FNG can cleanly do engine belt replacement! It would be better getting it done from ford only. Drive belt however can be done by any FNG.

Any contacts in Mumbai? I am looking for the front left door glass winder motor, but it is not available with Bhavna Ford, Kalina. They say they will order the part, and I have to drop my car there for a day for the replacement which is ridiculous. If I can get the genuine part, I can ask my local garage to fix it.
