and the best part is, there is only 1 diesel hatch to compete with th fusion. the indica. hence while Indica is catering to the low end market, Fusion can easily cater to the high-end.

i.e. if ford managers have enough brains.

I think this might push up sales for a small time because a lot of people were awaiting launch of new fusion.

I take back my comments on the bumper. They showed it on the Car &Bike show yesterday, and it's not half as bad. All that black cladding looks "Adventure"sque.

The marketing is all wrong though. Maybe they should get some of these "macho" heros to promote it - spend the moolah and get Hrithik to endorse it. An offroad kit would be awesome too.

Arvind Matthew had mentioned in an interview that he didnt see a market for diesel Fusion because it was a lifestyle product and the target demographic was inner city yuppies who didnt travel long distances. Somehow they failed to connect with the target market.
Talking about lifestyle product ..B.S !.. Ford Fusion is available in U.K with 1.4 & 1.6 Duratorq TDCi (direct injection, common rail Turbo) engines,so mr mathew means lifestyle in U.K is backward than indians!!! Why dont they offer the deisel variant in Fusion it will def increase their sales. It seems they still havent understood indian consumers yet.

Rocam I think what he was refering to is the fact that Fusion is a hi-volume budget commuter car in the UK whereas in India its a lifestyle product with a niche segment.
A yuppie in London would similarly drive something like a A3 for instance.
For example the Honda Accord in the US is a family car but marketed as a luxury car in India.

Regardless, the product has failed to connect with target market

I think that stupid ad campaign is what killed the car.

Btw, what is the Fusion's FE in city traffic? Someone I know is considering buying one, but we don't personally know anyone who owns/drives a Fusion, which is why the car arouses doubts.

Boomshiva - The new ad campaign is no better either.

The FE you can get out of a Fusion is around 11-12 kmpl in city after 1st servicing. I get this in Hyderabad with 100% AC on.

BTW, anybody in the forum got a chance to take a test drive of the new Fusion?

Hmmm... I was considering it in range of 10 kmpl. Up to 12kmpl in Hyd 100% AC on is very good figure out of a Fusion.

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

has ford worked with the suspension of the new fusion.cos when i took a test drive in the plder fusion the ride was pretty uncomfortable.the suspension was too stiff for low speeds.
but i like the new look of the car and the interiors look amazing now,.
