Not sure this shows enough to qualify as a teaser! It looks more like one of those ink blot tests - use your imagination and make what you can out of it!

You put it very subtly though. Ink blot tests

Seriously TATAng what in the world is that! For a minute I thought I was in the NASA forum staring at the latest iteration of the rings of Saturn. Given that the Expo is barely a month away, TATA should have started with a real element or a silhouette.

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, codenamed "X451"

Really looking forward to this one from TATA motors. The guys in TATA have been working hard and it really shows in their new bunch of cars, Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and Hexa. I hope they will taste success with their premium hatch, a segment which is now ruled by Baleno and i20. I also like the build quality of cars from TATA. I just hope that the new hatch won’t be a mini Nexon.

Awesome. Damn you Tata. How adventurous you've become when it comes to car designs. Going by the past trends, they're not deviating a lot from concepts. Make it reliable and niggle free. Like really niggle free, let the media drive make journos struggle hard to find niggles. Pricing, you'll usually don't get this wrong. Variants, you've got this wrong with nexon as there is a huge equipment Gap between the mid and top variant. Get an awesome auto box for this. Premium = automatic.

Guys, any clue on the launch dates?

SRK designs and Indianautosblog make a sketch out of the leaked pictures. Here what it looks like.

Yes this is starting to look quite exciting. TATA can be expected to carry concept to production unchanged and this is actually not a concept but more like a pre production design.

LED headlights hmmm..

re: Tata developing a premium hatchback, codenamed "X451"

Tata is raging with their new cars. Seeing how Nexon came out, I really wish Tata carries such design elements in the production version. But I doubt if it would be possible to keep such headlamps as they seem to be very unconventional. Without any reflectors or projector wouldn't the light just spread out?

The headlamp shown in the teaser is a laser light which can be found on Audi as an option (fog lamp of audi in the link).

It is not that Tata cannot integrate this in production car but its again Tata's call based on the price and value for money. Moreover, though this technology is quite promising, there are also doubtful voices around and therefore lasers are still not widely used as halogens and is offered as optional.
