Audi launches S5 Sportback in India at Rs. 62.95 lakh

I had a very close look at the same S5 in the gurgaon showroom a couple of days back. Before seeing it in person, I had strong apprehensions on the looks (side profile of sportback vs. Coupe) but it definitely looked much better than what it does in the pictures. I was impressed.

Interiors are a bit of a let-down, has a tiny sunroof and the same boring AC vents etc. However even in stock form it gets B&O, the TT seats (which are not much different from the S seats one pays extra for), keyless entry/ start/ stop etc. None of the loadings are a REAL value add or something that is necessary or that one cannot do without.

The impression I got was that if one can wait for 90 days for delivery, he could get it tailor made as per preference, and get it at 63L ex- showroom. One gets to choose vehicle color of choice, alloy pattern, leather upholstery color etc. Etc. Not a bad deal at all.

Is there any reason why Audi stopped selling the 3 litre petrol and diesel engines? I thought the sales were pretty decent

So I got an opportunity to drive the S5 early last week. The Audi Mumbai South folks were really, really prompt with everything including getting the car to western suburbs all the way from South Bombay that too past the normal working hours. Really impressed by the dealership experience. Now, coming to the ride it was a sepang blue Audi India car and the dimensions looked just perfect. The drive was brilliant and the torque was pretty impressive as well but they recommended that I should mostly stick to 97 octane to prevent engine. The price was coming to 72L on road Jharkhand for the car they have in stock. Really tilted towards the S5 as of now. Will take a call soon

Both the following are manufactured in 2015:
1. 2017 s5 30k done @30 lakhs
2. 2017 s5 done 18k @37 lakhs.

Which of these is the better buy? If this car is worth buying..

Is the s5 known to have any issues in its mechanical side of things? Any known issues or parts prone to failure that I should be worried about? Things I should be looking out for?
