Something wrong in Ecosport width, Storme is 1965mm with side steps. At 2540, Ecosport won't fit in regular parking bay.

However, its good to see that Brezza is bit wider than Creta!

Wow, talk about similar thoughts. I was going through this thread with interest last week when discussions turned towards comparison of the sub-4m "SUV"s :) I got interested and the idea came up of compiling a comparo of them in pictures. Probably this will help give an idea as to how the Brezza will look in comparison to the competition.
Click on the image to open in a new window. I've considered the dimensions in cm. For eg. the guide for 3995mm was drawn at 39.95cm. I'm willing to stand corrected if this way of comparing is incorrect.

The TUV towers over all the others, even over the Creta, probably due to it's height. I've included Creta due to it's popularity. The Creta, even though it's 271mm longer than the Ecosport, doesn't look that long, at least in the picture.

Width is wrong for Ecosport. I think the wider Brezza will give it a better classic SUV look in addition to the less raked windshield.

Nice compilation - can you please share the base file or update with the following changes :)

1. Rectify EcoSport width to 1765mm (LINK)
2. Change the photo of the Vitara to the Brezza (maybe THIS one)
3. Include the S-Cross (from HERE)

Thanks!

Not the length, the width needs correction!

@ rav11stars I guess you put the wheelbase dimensions for Ecosport in place of the width! Get it rectified with the Mods!

Thanks,

Good comparison, but the image used is that of the international Vitara, not the Indian Brezza.

thanks for those links. I was searching desperately for the perfect shot of the Brezza that I didn't realize I downloaded the Vitara :) I'll update these changes and will share it in the evening.

TOI reported commencement of bookings for Brezza. Can anyone confirm this?

YES this is CONFIRMED & happening in Chennai from Monday (8th Feb 2016)!!! Its just not a receipt for Rs 21k against customer's name.

Its a proper new vehicle booking docket mentioning the customer's name and model as Vitara Brezza along with other basic personal details. The variant field was left blank.

Not sure what happens in the background though (Ex : Un-Official dealer level bookings that get converted with the information provided in the docket as soon as Maruti officially makes an announcement etc....)

Personally I hate this malpractice of seeking bookings without even announcing the price of the car. It's ludicrous. And people participate in it wholeheartedly in the hope of getting the first lot of cars. I hope govt. should make some law against this.
Can a manufacturer do this in other countries too? I hope not.

These malpractices are dealer specific and bookings are not announced yet officially.
Here( BLR) only one dealer is taking the bookings( and that too not for VB, but can change when bookings are announced} and most have not displayed the Vitara Brezza on their webpage.

It is 1765mm in the spec sheet. 2520 is the wheel base.
L = 3999
H = 1708
W = 1765
WB = 2520

Vitara Brezza in its Petrol variant is likely to get a all new engine. Could be the 1.5L as rumored to launch in Indonesia market.

The challenge for petrol SUVs is to match the driving dynamics of a diesel SUV.
That's what is important. That is why we are finding the right engine to suit the character of this vehicle.

Will you use GDI technology for the Vitara Brezza petrol?

We will see. Options are available. We are studying that.

Here's the updated one with the Scross added and the width of the Ecosport corrected. This time I've verified the brochures and hoping I didn't goof up on any other parameters.

Scross is the shortest of the lot and surprisingly the longest(30mm longer than the Creta). The Creta probably because of it's thick C pillar has a more imposing side stance. With a height of 1590mm including the roof rails, it'd probably be the most stable of the lot too. The owners can put in their thoughts.

I've searched everywhere for a pic of the Brezza and finally realized that our very own Vid's pic is the best :) The pic of the Scross is from the brochure.

Looking at these models so closely, I've begun to appreciate the efforts that must've gone into designing the Ecosport. It is hard fitting in a pleasing design within 4m and I must say Ford has done a commendable job.

P.S : Do note that due to the angle in which the pics were taken there might be minor approximations when matching the length and height. This was only to serve the purpose of a general comparison.

Can you also add the IGNIS to this comparison if the specs are known. Thanks.

I like it. The second pic looks particularly good, not sure if it is the angle or the colour.

Just fyi I am an aam driver, not technical at all, not an enthusiast, just an ordinary Indian driver.

Dear Maruti, the day you put an AT on this vehicle, please go ahead and take my money.

Edit: No offence to anyone but it looks like a Skoda Yeti for downmarket folk like me. :D
