Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Fiat should have had only engines displayed in their stall! This pathetic showing just goes to reiterate that the global HQ is only interested in selling engines in India and not bothered about sales from cars.

Another image of the 125s

Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-fiatlinea125spressimage768x512.jpg

Features include Rain sensing wipers, automatic dual projector headlamps, rear parking sensors On the inside is a touchscreen audio unit that also gets satellite navigation and ambient lighting. Dual stage airbags for the driver and passenger airbag are also present.

Also as feared, Fiat has relaunched the previous generation Punto as Punto Pure. :(

Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016-fiatpuntopureat2016autoexpo768x512.jpg

As per the report the Fiat Punto Pure is very basic in terms of equipment. The company’s new entry-level offering features ABS in the top trim level but doesn’t get airbags. Steel wheels are standard across the range, though the display car had alloy wheels, while the body fittings are not body colored.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Pathetic is the only word that comes to my mind for fiat.

I wish they didn't participate in the expo at all. The stupid urban cross concept which looks like a ladies only version of the Avventura, launching a decade old Punto Pure after keeping it under wraps, 125hp Linea powered by Abarth it seems launched under wraps.

Don't think this company will have a future after engine sales to Maruti stops in two or three years.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Fiat Linea 125S to be launched by mid 2016, available in only the blue shade (Saffire Blue) and those black alloys.

http://overdrive.in/news/2016-auto-e...125s-unveiled/

The Punto Pure will be available only in Red colour and in 1.3l diesel and 1.2l petrol engines. The below link mentions 1.4l diesel, that must be a typo IMO.

Quote:
While Fiat Linea 125S will be launched in the Indian auto market by mid-2016, the Urban Cross is expected to begin its journey in Q3 of 2016. The third offering -- Punto Pure, which made its debut at the auto show on 4 February -- will hit the roads soon.
...
Under the bonnet of Punto Pure are both petrol and diesel engines. While the 1.4 litre diesel can dish out power of 75bhp of power @4,000rpm and 197Nm of peak torque @1750rpm, the 1.2 litre petrol mill is tuned to churn out 67bhp of power @6,000rpm and 96Nm of torque @2,500rpm. The transmission is handled by 5-speed manual gearbox in both petrol and diesel models. The Punto Pure is offered only in Red colour. The car features 15-inch alloy wheels, follow-me-home headlamps and blade wiper. Fiat Punto Pure has been priced at Rs 4.49 lakh.
They could have thought of launching the 125S with all black interiors like the Blackmotion Linea edition in Brazil.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

I think what Fiat can do is, buying all the old Puntos/Lineas from the market, refurbish them and sell them at a premium. Even the plant engineers must be bored producing the same cars.

With this attitude, I am not surprised why Fiat is having a poor resale value and doesn't feature highly on anyone's buying list. 114 PS to 125 PS?

They can and they should display only 2 things at their stall:

1. Engine
2. Alloy wheels.

Why is this Punto Pure launched only in red? If it's for the taxi segment.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Seems like Fiat had some old Punto body shells and excess red paint lying around and wanted to clear it off!

Can't understand why they re-launched this model.

As for the Linea, just plonk the 125bhp on the existing Linea and dis-continue the old one.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

114 PS to 125 PS. So, anyone who wants an approved and tested version of remap by manufacturer can go for this. Later, we can expect a face-lifted version with little more power, I think.

And I wouldn't be surprised if this Punto Pure gets a face-lift as well.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Pure will be available in 3 colors, Exotica Red, Hip-hop Black and White.

Link: http://overdrive.in/news/2016-auto-e...-rs-4-49-lakh/

Black would be the favorite for those few who would buy it, as it will negate the Non-body colored ORVM's.
Different stories on different sites. Officially Fiat will disclose the details only tomorrow as regards to feature list etc. But the following I am already sure of
a. Starts 4.5L (for the petrol)
b. Single variant - two engine options - Petrol 1.2 & diesel 1.3.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

I don't understand, Why keep these 2 products under the wraps at all? Under the wrap means, It should be a surprise, eg. XUV Aero, Ameo.

Every manufacturer out there has shown something new in their stable. Why waste money investing on a stall at all, They could do this in so many malls available all around India.

They need to learn a lesson or two from Datsun which has only 2 models in its lineup but still have made it look interesting. They have made a honest attempt in connecting to the Indian market by showcasing their classics to gain customer confidence and to let customers know what Datsun brand is.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

I am so happy that Fiat bought the Punto Pure, at least now I will not have to live with that new crappy design. But what would have appreciated is that they gave old styling option of Abrath package. That would be killer combination for me.

Interestingly the link says that Punto Pure gets rear fog lamps, but no front fog lamps as per pictures from auto expo or am I missing something here?

Quote:
Additionally it gets body colored bumpers and rear fog lamps.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

In the history of the automobile world, has there ever been a relaunch of a discontinued car? I guess Fiat goes in to the record books. I will say this; the old shape has not aged one bit.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Rampant mismanagement & desperation.
Looking at the moves Fiat is pulling, there is no surprise where they are in terms of market position.
A plethora of confusing options built on the base of the Punto in a lame attempt to hit every possible segment & price point.
Despite being a Fiat fan & owning a Punto I don't see any potential of success for Fiat in India with the current decade old lineup.

Re: Fiat @ Auto Expo 2016

Amatuerish.

What does Fiat India Marketing team smoke? Probably goes to show where India features in their over all plan. Which is sad actually considering the fact that they have been here for quite some time. Fiat would have better not displayed anything at all!

In fact I get similar vibes when they display cars at Malls too. No interest what so ever. As if the whole thing is a chore being done only because some body told them to do so.
