Looks like not much has changed, I can see poorly finished plastics on the international version. Our Indian version will be even more Inferior.

Have a look at this below image. The dummy switch clearly looks cheap.

Its about time to dump Toyota I feel.

Their Crysta looks like a clumsy boat and is overpriced, not to speak of having a taxi image, and the zillion niggles so much so that it has a dedicated thread for its niggles.

Just spoke to Toyota Bharat customer care, he admitted a so-called Corolla "facelift" is launching tomorrow Mar 15th when I asked him about it. When I asked him why no info about it on Toyota web site and why no announcements of launch, the guy was clueless. I asked if Cruise Control was available in variants other than the topmost VL AT variant (something that I care about, and something that even C segment cars have begun coming with), and the answer is negative. All in all, I am beginning to think its not even a facelift, probably just some cosmetic changes. Clearly taking Indian customers for a ride! Need I mention that the diesel Corolla carries a puny 88 bhp 1.4 liter engine, I cant believe it! Even 2 segments lower cars are beefier!

I just told the rep that they've lost a customer and am heading to Elantra!

re: Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 15.88 lakh

Quite disappointed - they missed out on a big opportunity with the interiors.

Tan, similar to the ones used in the Crysta, or even black interiors would have done a significant job in making the interiors feel more premium!

Rest seems standard - guessing safety would be improved, and a couple of new features would be added.

where are the 6 airbags ? sunroof ? (however useless the sunroof is). i agree the tan and black would be better but they have to make the beige stand out otherwise the black rough plastics would be evident throughout.

Overall i used to own the previous generation and i think that car was a better quality product then this current generation.

If what is there in the Toyota India website is the deal, it’s quite a disappointment. It still have dual airbags as standard, the only welcome addition I can see is the VSC/ESP.

That is still the pre-FL Corolla.

Given the new Innova has 7 (?) airbags, and the Camry comes with 9; I sincerely think they will upgrade the Corolla's specs too.

Camry also got better speakers, and wireless charging in it's 2017 models - hope some of that makes it's way to the Corolla too (not that it would make a significant difference).

Any update on the pricing? Have they increased the prices from the current model? I'm eyeing one in the petrol version. Any update would be more than helpful.

re: Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 15.88 lakh

Toyota official website updated.

New 'Phantom Brown' shade added.

Lower varaints get driver + passenger + driver knee + front side SRS airbags, whereas VL gets extra curtain airbags.

Edit: Top petrol variant pricier by more than 1 lakh!

re: Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 15.88 lakh

It looks Toyota has introduced the automatic in the G variant also.

The J variants are not listed anywhere. The VL gets 7 airbags, whereas the lower variants get 5 airbags.

The diesel owners won't be able to secure the safety of the rear occupants, i.e. no VL variant for the diesel.

I really like the way those bi-beam LED headlamps look. They give the car a sporty and mean look.

With the Elantra offering only two airbags except for the top end Auto, the Corolla is a worthy alternative for someone looking for a petrol car and wants additional peace of mind and safety. No matter how you look at it, the diesel with its puny engine is a compromise.

The pre- face-lift Corolla also had G- CVT variant. Prices have gone up by around 1 Lakh there too.

And there was no top- spec Diesel 'V' variant before. The D4D topped out at the GL variant.

The Elantra top end petrol Auto is nearly 1.75 Lakhs cheaper ex- showroom, and it is the newer car, but the 'Toyota' and 'Corolla' badges are hard to argue with.

You're right... this is not bad at all! The top-end petrol is very well-loaded. May not be for the driving thrills, but this quite match-up with the likes of Skoda Octavia, at a lower price point.
