So bang on, its a CBU.

Could you also confirm if it's gonna be that way for a while or the CKD are expected soon? If yes, is a drop in price like the one happened at the time when XJL became CKD from CBU a couple of years back? I also can't understand why can't they throw in more options like choice of alloy wheels, body kit, etc or atleast black pack? Heck, even a 3.0L variant after all they brought one for homologation. That and customisations would have been a very welcome move in this segment. For instance, who wouldn't want to change the alloys of the prestige variant which is undoubtedly the saddest looking alloy wheels in its segment.

Also, I guess its already mentioned here but even they know very well what they are comparing with still have messed up the pricing of the top-end variant by a big big amount almost a million ₹₹₹₹₹₹₹ more then its equivalent competitor and what does it offer for it and if not better engine or dramatically better comfort levels (I drove the 20d and its good but not a segment revolutionary), so apart from the brand value what justifies the million rupees premium? HUD? Park Assist? the dramatic beating start button and rotating ac vents? that's all! I hope I'm not being too harsh

PS: I forgot to mention the lowest power output on paper for the diesel variant which is clearly made out when behind the wheel. Oh, and the sweet discounts that the competition has on offer:dead horse

Re: All-new Jaguar XF launched at 49.50 lakhs

Just sparking this sleeping thread (as expected after the way they priced this one), CKD operations have begun as per AMP Motors, Delhi. No reduction in price nor any kind of great deals though. Just an exchange bonus of 1.5L.

I'm in the market for a 25t XF Portfolio specially and considering the top-end trim only coz of the beautiful Sienna Tan interior, however I just noticed that our Indian spec car has 'less of tan' in comparison to what international market gets and even what Jaguar India configurator shows. Could you pls confirm if the lower bit of door plastics both front and rear and even seat backs on Indian cars are Tan or Black? Pic attached for reference;

It's all black and all plasticy. It is true that We do get lesser spec'd vehicle here in India. If you are in for a Petrol, it's a great buy because it definitely is one the best engines to come out of the JLR stable.

Also, no plans for 30D as JLR is even also swapping the Evoque's 2.2L to the 2.0 Inginum. and shockingly, the new Evoque will also be sold through the CBU route. If u want a 3.0, go for the F-Pace instead, trust me, I have driven the F-Pace

Re: All-new Jaguar XF launched at 49.50 lakhs

Jaguar launches the "made-in-India" XF at Rs. 47.5 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.

Quote:
Jaguar Land Rover India on Thursday launched its locally manufactured all-new Jaguar XF sedan at a starting price of Rs 47.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The all-new Jaguar XF will be available in two options -- a 2-litre Ingenium diesel engine with a power output of 132 kW and a 2-litre petrol engine with a power output of 177 kW, the company said in a statement.
Is CKD being touted as "made-in-India"?

Re: All-new Jaguar XF launched at 49.50 lakhs

2L price reduction on the base and top model XF whereas the mid variant 'prestige' gets a price cut of 2.75L but loses on optional adaptive full LED headlamps as it was an option earlier which IMO changes the look of the XF by a great deal. Pretty fair and aggressive pricing strategy now with starting price now being under 48L which I'm sure nor the upcoming E-Class (being a LWB) nor the G30 5 Series will be able to match.

It launched as a CBU initially and the first lot of cars were imported in CBU form from the UK but now the CKD operations have begun and all the XF sold from March onwards will me CKD 'assembled' in Pune just like its younger and elder siblings the XE and the XJL. However the 'Made in India' title is misleading as news' headlines often are coz the car is only assembled in India and kits are still imported and its just assembled in India.

Looks like my predictions came true!

Now only if Jaguar follows Land Rovers lead......

Land Rover slashes prices across all models in India

https://www.carwale.com/news/land-ro...-models-28680/

Land Rover has announced price cuts of its popular entry-level SUVs – the Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque. Both these cars are now being assembled in India through the CKD route and the price cut comes as an after-effect of the reduced import prices thanks to the decline in the valuation of the British pound after Brexit.

Next in the line is F-Pace specially the 3.0L variants. I'm assuming the 3.0 F-Pace to be cheaper by 20-25L soon and the 2.0L one by 3-5L

Don't bother, JLR is using second hand parts for regular service, I can't imagine a worse way to ensure a terrible ownership experience. Other brands at least have expensive spares available.
