Isn't the price difference between petrol n diesel models too less? E.g. sigma petrol : 7.72 l INR , sigma hydrid : 7.88 l INR. 16 k INR is the difference.

Is there a significant difference in equipments between a petrol n diesel?

It would be the only nexa car without bixenons or bi-led though.

That's because in Delhi, the Govt provides incentives for Hybrid Equipped Vehicles & Ciaz Hybrid is one of them. The premium between Petrol & Diesel Hybrid is reduced there. So, the benefit is passed on to customers. The same car cost's 80k more in Pune & 1.2 lakhs in Bangalore (Sigma Petrol vs Sigma Diesel).

I spotted the Blue (Shiny) Maruti Ciaz today, near the shriram gateway perungalathur, Chennai. It was very attractive in the blue shade and I am sure we can expect lot of bookings for this color.

I am sorry about the poor quality of the pictures, that's the best I could manage at that time.

That blue looks so premium. Not sure what is my next car but would love to have it in this blue

Maruti Suzuki suffers as govt withdraws subsidy to mild hybrid vehicles
:Shockked:
Source: Business Standard online dated 02-April-2017

The government has withdrawn incentives given to mild hybrid vehicles under FAME India scheme, impacting the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India the most.

The company's popular models, multi-utility vehicle Ertiga and mid-sized sedan Ciaz with mild hybrid technology had benefited from the scheme that was launched in April 2015 to popularize the use of electric vehicles in the country.

Mild hybrid technology will stand excluded from the benefits of the FAME India scheme with effect from April 1, 2017, a notification by Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises said.

Earlier, mild hybrid, strong hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicles were given incentives under the scheme.
While extending the Phase I of the scheme to September 30, the notification, however, said "sales of mild hybrid vehicles by dealer to retail purchasers effected up to March 31, 2017 will not be affected."

A mild hybrid vehicle has an electric motor, which on its own cannot run a vehicle but assists normal engine by using recovered energy stored in a battery and helps save fuel.

MSI's Ertiga and Ciaz, equipped with Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology, had received incentives of Rs 13,000 each under the scheme.

SVHS equipped Ertiga is priced between Rs 7.17 lakh and Rs 8.75 lakh while the same for Ciaz is between Rs 7.87 and Rs 9.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

When contacted, a company spokesperson said: "We believe that mild hybrid technology is the first step towards full hybridisation. MSIL is committed to this technology which is part of the government's NEMMP programme."

Ciaz and Ertiga are already equipped with this technology which is providing best in class fuel efficiency, the spokesperson added.

"We will continue to provide value to customers through this technology. We do not expect any significant impact due to withdrawal of the FAME incentive," the spokesperson said.

With an aim to promote eco-friendly vehicles, the government had launched the FAME India scheme in 2015 offering incentives on electric and hybrid vehicles of up to Rs 29,000 for bikes and Rs 1.38 lakh for cars.

It envisaged Rs 795 crore support for the first two fiscals.

FAME India is part of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP). It is being administered by the Heavy Industries Ministry.

One point of interest has been how does the pricing change if the Ciaz moves to Nexa. The pricing ex-showroom at Nexa is the same as that in Maruti Suzuki.
However there are no offers on Ciaz in Nexa. The discounts on offer in Maruti showrooms in March were 40,000 exchange offer; 10,000 corporate discount; 10,000 cash discount totalling 60000 apart from FAME subsidy of 15000. Now the market prices of Ciaz in Nexa have effectively gone up 5-7% for the Ciaz given absence of offers

The sales numbers of Ciaz in Nexa will be interesting to watch!

The SHVS badge has been changed, and it now reads Smart Hybrid.

Has anyone test driven the car from nexa? Does it feel any heavier/stronger? Because the new manual claims the weight to be 1490 - 1550 kgs while the old ciaz was just 1000-1105 kgs!!

1490 to 1550 Kgs is GVW. 1000 to 1105 is Kerb weight.

Was in a Nexa showroom today wanting to test-drive a Ciaz AT. They don't even have a display (AT) vehicle, let alone a test-drive vehicle.

Discounts are therefore unlikely for the time being!

Was at Nexa in Chandigarh yesterday. They didn't offer any discount on Ciaz apart from 10k corporate discount. On exchange bonus, they said they would check but max would be 20k.

Will try my luck with Maruti and see if they have some unsold inventory at discount.
