Delivered such a car to my customer on Saturday. It's inline with Nexa badging style. Won't expect engine changes immediately, but there could be new features added.

I don't think this is facelift of Ciaz, it's just that Maruti has removed all Maruti badges from the car.

The Ciaz facelift is at very preliminary stage of development. It is at least 1 year away from fruction. Remember it has to come with new 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel (in-house) engines. It requires a lot of testing to establish that. Additionally, I heard rumours, that the new Ciaz will sport a more efficient SHVS system.
The path to India is through China I guess with Alivio slated to be updated first

ISOFIX on the Ciaz is coming part of the facelift?

Yes it is a regulatory requirement now. Expect all cars to be updated to accommodate ISO FIX.

AFAIK ISOFIX is already there in all the post November 2016 manufactured Ciaz.

Thanks to Utkarsha Mohan for sharing this pic! He caught a fleet of 2017 Ciaz being shipped from the stockyard to dealerships. He says that he saw a new shade on one of the cars that was similar to the Ray Blue of the Baleno.

A blue Ciaz was spotted in MSIL's yard couple of years ago. I believe that was for Export.

Took delivery for my Ciaz on 16th Feb. Below is the pic from the pdi performed at the dealer stockyard a week prior to that.

My dad's regular service station manager told him that Ciaz is coming with the 1.6 MJD.

agree: that the long term plan will be to use the 1.5 L petrol and 1.5 diesel coming in-house. But the Ciaz could have a 1.6 MJD version in the April facelift.

Nexa RM says Ciaz shifting to Nexa is certain in April. However per his knowledge, there is no chance of the 1.6 engine and it will be 1.3 only and for the most part, the vehicle will be the same with the same engines

With stricter safety norms around the corner,*Maruti*has silently upgraded its big boys - the*Ciaz*and the*Ertiga*to be safer. The manufacturer claims the safer vehicles are already on sale.

Maruti hasn't been specific as to how the Ciaz and the Ertiga have been made safer. However, we've been told the structural rigidity of the cars have been upgraded. As per the standards set by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways all new cars launched after October 1, 2017 have to comply with crash test norms. However, for vehicles that are already on sale, the deadline is October 2019. The tests include a full frontal, front-offset and side-impact crashes.

The brand has been ahead of the curve in equipping their newer products with safety tech. For instance, cars such as the*Brezza,*Baleno*and the*Ignis*are already compliant with the new norms that come into effect from October this year.

ACI speculates the Ciaz could get the 1.0 L boosterjet engine.

Also, this engine could soon find its way in the Ciaz, Brezza and Ertiga

My dad is considering Suzuki Ciaz vdi+ 2017. Dealer is offering a decent price.

Is there any way to know whether the car he is being offered comes with the updated (safer) chassis or not ?

Ciaz was always future regulation compliant. It was built that way. What we now see is just the addition of ISO FIX and the results of confirmatory test.
And the Boosterjet news is alternative facts. The 2018 Ciaz will get a 1.5L petrol from K-series family along with a home brewed 1.5L diesel engine.

K-series oil burner? I reckon you meant the petrol K series 1.5?
