re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

I personally think Ameo looks the best. I don't know if it's the classy styling or what but IMO it looks better than Vento.

Also Tigor looks equally brilliant.

I like both these cars because they don't look like a compact sedan. They look as if they are an extended hatchback.

OT : The best looking sub 4m car in my opinion is Vitara Brezza. Other companies should learn from Maruti on how to design a sub 4m car.

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

The most proportionate design-

1. Amaze
2. Xcent
3. Zest
4. Aspire
5. Indigo CS
6. Ameo
7. Dzire
8. Tigor

Tigor is a unique design, not sure where to put it on this list. But I am pretty sure about its position in the next list.

The best looking design-

1. Tigor
2. Aspire
3. Ameo
4. Amaze
5. Zest
6. Dzire
7. Xcent
8. Indigo CS

The poll asks for the best looking/ best integrated boot design. I will be voting for the best looking design, which is the Tigor.

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

I think the amaze looks the most proportionate , given that it has a short bonnet so the stubby boot doesn't look that much out of place.

didn't vote for the tigor as it is clearly not a sedan IMHO, its a "styleback" or a notchback which btw, looks stunning. Didn't know Tata motors could make the Tiago look better than it already is.

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

IMHO, even after so many years the Indigo CS surprisingly does not feel awkward.

Looks wise (all angles considered) -
Aspire(looks the most sedan'ish) > Amaze > Tigor > Indigo > Zest > Xcent > Ameo > Dzire.

Practicality/Interior space -
Zest > Indigo > Amaze=Xcent > Aspire > Dzire > Ameo.

Xcent for it's seamless integration and mammoth boot space of 407 litres gets my vote.

But while the boot space as well as boot integration is seemless, the boot design itself wasn't UpTo the expectations.

Hyundai is reportedly correcting it with the upcoming facelifted Xcent, which will have more cohesive look and a different design of the tail-lamps so as to appeal to a much wider audience.

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

Interesting question. The choices are all more or less like this -

Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans-urukhaiarethemasterrace_8a762481ade67bb8256cba052cd48965.jpg

Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans-250pxtroll.jpg

My pick of the lot would be Hyundai Xcent. It is most proportionate of the lot. The boot is of the right size and shape.

OMG...!!! Didn't know I was the only one to vote for the Verito.

While looks are always a matter of personal preference, I feel that the Verito sedan is the least offensive of all when it comes to boot styling. It is subtle, mildly classy and doesn't look like it is made to a size.

The Vibe on the other hand, is the worst looking hatchback, again, my personal opinion.

Because Verito is not a compact sedan (sub 4m), and therefore doesn't qualify for this poll.

And Vibe is not a hatchback, but a compact sedan

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

Sorry, I haven't made a choice since I am unable to get past the usage of a positive adjective (like best) with 'compact sedan' in the same sentence.

re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

There are a lot of other factors that influence a car's looks, other than the boot integration. Keeping that in mind,

Aspire > Xcent > Tigor > Ameo > Amaze=Zest > Dzire

Not including the Indigo and Verito because they're pretty much irrelevant.

Re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

I'll give it to the eCS. I didn't know that it was a sub-4 car until I checked the spec sheet. Good front overhang and sharp rake of the rear windshield gives it the best 3-box design of all the 2.5-box cars out here.

The Tigor looks more like a coupe and is the most beautiful to look at IMO.

Re: Poll: The best-looking boot among compact sedans

Interesting post. Voted for the Ford Figo Aspire, which to my mind is the only compact sedan I have seen with a perfectly integrated boot which does not look like an after thought. The Tata Zest comes second, and the Honda Amaze comes third (and gets my award for the only compact sedan that looks better than the Hatch it's based off - though that's because the Brio's designers seem to have been given an objective of making something quirky rather than good looking).

Am surprised to see the Tigor leading this poll - I have not yet seen one on the road. Yes, one of the pictures someone posted looks good - but I can't vote for a car I haven't seen in person.

Have started using Compact sedans fairly often due to Uber X - from a rear seat users perspective, the Xcent is the best followed by the Zest and Dzire - with the Indigo bringing up the rear. Have not travelled in an Amaze, Aspire or Ameo yet. And yes, despite their ugly looks, the non compact sedan Etios and Verito far outclass the above cars on rear seat comfort.

The top three in my view are Aspire, Xcent and Zest and worst of the lot are Dzire and Ameo. Vote for Aspire and didnt consider Tigor since its not a released product yet.
