Here is Suzuki Alivio face-lift for China. Expect the same for the upcoming Ciaz facelift. Likely a 6AT variant.

More pics - tweaked rear bumper, design elements are likely to be carried over to Ciaz as it is a global offering.

The Suzuki Avilio Pro has a 1.6-litre G-INNOTEC petrol engine that produces 122.6PS@6,600rpm and 158Nm@4,400rpm. It is offered with a 6-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission. Suzuki claims a mileage of 17.85kmpl from this engine in the Indonesian cycle.

Now the rear end looks identical to the City, well at least the pre facelift one !
The front looks a generation older and doesn't add to the cars current styling IMHO.

Not seeing enough of spyshots of the facelift Ciaz ? That is because Suzuki is testing the Ciaz extensively in Europe!

Suzuki Ciaz now seen testing in Spain . Looks like mechanical changes are in the offing and not mere cosmetics?

The diesel range could be joined by a new 1.5-litre diesel unit specially developed for India. It will have the same output as the outgoing 1.6-litre, but as a downsized engine, it will put the car in a lower tax and price range.

Now, this could be a newly designed grille which was first seen on the S-Cross facelift sold in the International market. There are chrome door handlebars visible as well.

Since this is their flagship sedan, I think they really need to put in a better automatic in the new Ciaz. And better interiors and infotainment along with projector lamps and some other goodies. I really don't see with just cosmetic facelift how will they compete with the new Verna/city etc.

It's pretty confusing to guess when the new Ciaz will be launched. I was told by someone that the new Ciaz will be launched in Sep-Oct 2017, but going by the news and posts, I was guessing it'll launch by early 2018. However, I got a message from a Nexa dealer yesterday, they're offering upto ₹90k discount on the Ciaz. And the offer is available till 31st August '17. IMO the Ciaz will be launched soon because with the new Verna launch, many customers are already leaning towards the Verna.

Regards,
Swapnil

I don't think, Maruti will launch Ciaz with engines more than 1.3 Diesel or 1.4 Petrol engines. Yesterday, I had visited Nexa showroom here and they have no information whatsoever about new launches. Interestingly, one guy stated that Ciaz is being launched with 1.6 Diesel with "S" badge and I can book it now, the delivery will start in September 2017 :uncontrol

Per rumors going around in the market, they will come up with another face-lift which is again be only skin-deep; very unfortunate, though.

I think, they are playing safe with Ciaz in the category where it is, at present. With 1.5 or 1.6 engines, Ciaz will enter into the Verna/City/Vento arena and unnecessarily will have to compete with these rivals.

Isnt Ciaz already in Verna/City/Vento arena, having competed and outselling them all?

In my opinion, 125PS 320Nm 1.5 liter diesel on Ciaz will be a hoot to drive, inspite of the turbolag.

I own a Ciaz 1.3, it is an extremely comfortable and practical family car. I am planning on a second sedan next year, I may have opted for rapid/vento, having driven my cousin's 1.6 GT.

But if Ciaz gets 1.5, I would go for it for sure. Heck, it will have the power to weight ratio of D segment sedans!

In the comfort and technology configuration, the new car is equipped with electric sunroof, cruise control, rear sunshade, high-definition reversing images, Bluetooth, a key to start + keyless entry. In terms of safety, Kai-Pro Pro is equipped with a base ABS + EBD + BA system, six airbags and ESP.

These 2 test plate running Ciaz were spotted by my cousin today in Gurgaon. These had no markings anywhere regarding engine, no VVTi or DDiS except Ciaz. The car on right is running same plates as that on post 1 of this thread. I guess this is with the 1.5 Diesel engine, testing it under different loads.

Great catch.

Tyre seems to be 205 specs and not 195, isn't? Ciaz will look stunning with that rubber

There are no badges because it's now a Nexa product. Diesel variants get DDiS badge on the fender. Petrols don't get anything other than the model badging.

The 7099 is petrol and it was also spotted back in June.

2018 Ciaz on test,

With GST taking a toll on CIAZ SHVS, Maruti Suzuki is likely to fast track the launch of Ciaz Face-lift,

I hope they don't bring the same Chinese Alivio design here. Makes the Ciaz look a generation older and also milder. Also, what's with those weird whiskers?

Those diamond-cut turbine alloy wheels look amazing on the Ciaz! Maruti has gotten pretty good with their wheel designs off-late after dishing out the most boring designs for the longest time. Ignis, new Dzire, new S-cross all have some good looking wheels.

Can someone please share reference of suzuki 1.5L petrol engine ?
I Understood that the diesel is pretty new and after seeing the crude(yet reliable) Honda engine, i guess Suzuki too might be similar if not worse. That coupled with the 5 year/1L km warranty should help buyers take risk with a new Engine.

I really liked Ciaz but not happy with the current engines offered and the AT. Not very happy with the new Verna, feels too cramped at the rear(2+kid only) and Honda is too expensive for AT.
