I have taken the 2 year extended warranty, still some time to decide if I want to take the 5th year. Have an SCross 1.6, so probably will take it.

Haha!! Maruti has even updated it in website. Ask the dealer to enter VIN Number / Registration number in DMS and it will show the options available in EW package for your car.

Maruti has increased the prices for the EW package. It now costs Rs 19907 for 5 yrs / 100000kms for S Cross.

I have a 19 month old Brezza Zdi+ with 3rd & 4th year extended warranty purchased while buying the car, I had paid 13,990 for the extra 2 years of extended warranty.
For the 5th year extra extended warranty, Maruti daaler Garuda Autocraft, Bangalore is quoting 11,250.
Wondering if paying 11k is worth for just one extra year of warranty
Especially when given the fact that 5th year has lots of clauses like: humming & hissing noise not covered, any part failure which doesn't majorly affect driving is not covered etc
Maruti will obviously try to wriggle out with such excuses

I guess the reason is also related to the fact that our road and environmental conditions (heat, dust, stop and go traffic etc) are not very good for vehicles and reduces the life of the engine etc by a lot compared to western countries.

Important Points :

1. All extended warranty policies should be purchased before 2 years / 40K km from the date of purchase of vehicle.

2. If the customer already has EW till 4 th year, 5 th year plan should be purchased before 2 years / 40k KM.

My S-Cross 1.6 would be turning 2 years old after 4 months. I have EW plan till 4 th year. Dealer has informed me to purchase 5 th year plan before the end of 2nd year.

I've been quoted ₹11298/- for the 5th year EW for my Brezza. I hope this is within the stipulated price bracket. But the dealer has not told me to purchase it within 2 years of car purchase which happens to be next week. I'll have to check again. I'll definitely be going for it because I've had some major components in Wagon R that failed post 4th year warranty expiry.

My 2nd year of ownership is getting over by 1st week of May. I checked for my scross 1.3 on the extended warranty and was informed it will cost 22k for warranty for 5 years and I need to purchase before the second year completion.

You have to get it before 2 years / 40k kms. Maruti system won't accept it if it's beyond that period. Few dealers are not aware of this.

I paid ₹11,297 for the 5th year Royal Platinum warranty at Bimal Maruti bangalore, while renewing my car insurance

I am not sure if Maruti extended warranty is worth taking. I was reviewing their website and if you see the items not covered, it lists almost everything that is most prone to failure or requires replacement due to noise etc.

What all parts are covered in extended warranty then? Is there an exhaustive list like they have for what all is not covered.

Though I am ready to pay 10,000 for extending my Baleno's warranty to 5 years it should be worth IMO.

Looks like Maruti is copying Hyundai now. The 5 year warranty for the Creta is Rs.24K. For the top of line warranty for the fully loaded S Cross, the cost is Rs. 19K.

Not exactly the best value but atleast this is available to customers as an option.

Is Royal Platinum extended warranty available only to original buyer?

Planning to buy a 1 year 8 months old pre-owned car. If it is available only for original buyer, I will buy it before RC transfer?

If no, I will buy it after RC transfer.
