Re: 2017 Volvo XC60 launched at Rs. 55.90 lakh

Could you elaborate?
Every manufacturer has a credit line for its dealers either directly or via channel financing. Volvo dealers in a case asking for full disbursal are going to keep the money to themselves, I don't think Volvo will change its payment term just for a particular model and ask payments in advance. I won't pay full amount without actually seeing the car. If they don't want to allocate the car just because it's in demand, will move elsewhere or wait. But if someone is sold out due to features or otherwise, try best not to pay full. Over the years, I have seen models getting equipped better as they age, with an exception of Mercedes S class which sadly never got features they gave in Launch edition.

Should probably check out this thread:

Honestly, the XC60 is something I'd pick for my father, even over the S90. But if you're looking for something fun, yet practical - wait for the new X3 30D if it makes it here!
Even the 530D shouldn't be too bad in terms of ride quality - and you guys have much better roads for most part than us in Mumbai.

Had the a similar dilemma about buying a better handling car like the X3 or something like the XC60. Finally decided to go with the XC60, given that it was meant to be more of a family car, one that I would use on road trips etc. and while I would love the driving dynamics and handling of a BMW on long journeys, I value the safety and comfort features of the XC60 more. Besides, the best aspects of a BMW can be better experienced in a sedan rather than an SUV/crossover IMO.

I think as an overall package, the XC60 is excellent. Looks awesome, great interiors, loaded with features, safe as a house, with lots of tech. Doesn't have the snob value of one of the Germans though but that is a personal thing. I don't care so much about that.

That's a dream car for me too and if only I hadn't been in the market for an SUV, I would have most probably bought that. Anyway, something to look forward to in the future I guess.

This segment is heating up with the arrival of Q5, nx350 and the x3. It would be a great shootout between the 3 vehicles along with Evoque , Discovery Sport and the GLC.

Mod Note: Our Volvo XC60 Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!
