re: Fortuner & Innova variants to get new features

Great news ! By when do you think these changes would be done? Would current bookings also be completed by delivering the updated vehicles?

re: Fortuner & Innova variants to get new features

Finally, the GX variant has become desirable and to be very frank acceptable(when it comes to features) for its price point. People spending 18L on this Toyota won't feel the pinch now, though they may have to pay slightly more.

That's a good move, but I guess there will be a minor price increase as well as unlike the norm, Toyota hasn't increased the prices of the Innova Crysta for a long time now.

Good that Toyota is giving these additional features. But I feel these changes should have been done without any increase in price to make them of more value.

re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

They should change the way how their AT's work in the first place.

Like in S mode which is also a manual mode, it just changes the maximum allowable gear when you + and -, its just nonsense. They should replicate what TATA has done with the Hexa's automatic.

re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

From a dealer:

Toyota has also hiked prices for the Toyota Innova Crysta, Innova Touring Sport and the Fortuner, thanks to the additional features and the recent IRDA announcement stating that starting September 1, 2018, all new two-wheeler and passenger-vehicle sales will need to have a mandatory five-year third-party insurance and a three-year third-party plan, respectively.

The 2018 Toyota Innova Crysta now starts at Rs 14.65 lakh (Rs.14.35 lakh earlier) for the 2.7-litre petrol variant, going upto Rs.22.06 lakh (Rs 21.57 lakh earlier) for the top-spec 2.8-litre ZX diesel automatic variant.

The 2018 Innova Touring sport is now priced from Rs.18.59 lakh (Rs.18.15 lakh, earlier) for the 2.7-litre petrol VX variant going upto Rs.23.06 lakh (Rs.22.70 lakh, earlier) for the top spec 2.8-litre ZX automatic variant.

The 2018 Toyota Fortuner now costs Rs.27.27 lakh (Rs.26.69 lakh earlier) for the 2.7-litre petrol variant going upto Rs.32.97lakh (Rs.32.48 lakh earlier) for the 2.8-litre diesel 4WD automatic variant.

All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.

re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

Are the features listed in the first box only for the Fortuner or for the Innova as well? Would love to see the OEM LED taillight option for the Innova as well as an electrochromic rear view mirror. Not to mention the Bi-beam LED/DRL for the Innova, strange why Toyota didn’t bring these features for the top end trims.

re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

Aww shucks. A top management guy in my office just picked up the Innova GX AT 8 seater 5 days back.

He is deeply disappointed and upset on reading this. Being a previous innova owner he upgraded to Crysta and now reads this.

re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

Good move by Toyota to make GX the VFM variant, like the older Innova was. Speed sensing door lock, impact sensing unlock, steering controls are harder to retrofit.
But is this feature update rolled out because of impending launch of Marazzo and Ertiga? Irrespective, good for customers.

Re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

Turbanator, I think you forced Toyota into announcing it earlier than planned. Have never seen a press release on a product update come in on Saturday; this one did exactly 3 hours after your thread went live.

Yes, Toyota is an active reader of the forum.

Re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

I'm shocked they think they can still keep hiking Innova prices. Its already so expensive! Another price hike by adding features is just making it prohibitive and closer strike range to products like a 4x2 Endy.

Having said that, improving kit levels on the GX is a welcome move. Currently, even if you have the budget for a ZX, buying the lowly GX is the only way to own an A/T Innova with a bench seat.

What is the absolute price increase for the GX variant of Innova Crysta - Diesel Automatic ?

It looks the VFM variant right now ! (Still costs ~ 19L on road)

Re: Toyota Fortuner & Innova to get more features

There was advertisement on radio today by Pune dealer offering immediate delivery of Innova and Fortuner with minimum down payment. Could this be to clear stock before the new ones are introduced?

They have updated the price lists, GX was Rs 16,76 last month and now Rs 17,18 here in Gurgaon i.e an increase of Rs 45 K. For all the features and depreciating Rupee, I will say completely acceptable.
