I love the design. The shape looks really simple - something like the boxy vans I used to draw as a kid. I hope the final version looks as clean as this, and not forcefully stylized with cuts and creases.

Hyundai will most likely offer a new MPV model in Asia in the first half of this year, which according to some sources will be called Custo.

This is Hyundai's upcoming minivan (for China), rivalling Honda's Odyssey.

It has a Chinese-oriented design, dual sunroof, two-row independent seats (7-seater), and an integrated center fascia, and will be sold in 7-seater and 8-seater models.

The size is 4950mm in length, 1850mm in width, 1734mm in height and 3055mm in wheelbase, which is bigger than the Odyssey and a little smaller than the Buick GL8.

I think they have tried enough with the Entry level segment.
First with the Eon & Again with the Santro.
Both of these did not work.

They have found their groove, with the premium segments of the market, and I think they should continue to leverage it.

Instead of targeting the Ertiga head-on, they should go for the gap between Ertiga & Innova.
The Marazzo failed to exploit this opportunity.
However, Hyundai may very well find success here, as they have a huge variety of Engine & Transmission combinations in this 1.5L capacity, which Mahindra never had.

If the Custo is coming to India, there's no way a 1.5L engine will move this 4.95m long behemoth. They'll need the 2L diesel from the Tucson, and that signals a price that will be closer to the space between the Innova and the Kia Carnival if Hyundai leverages it's local supply base.

Hyundai is readying an all-new Ertiga-rivalling MPV, likely to be called Hyundai Stargazer, it will primarily be aimed at emerging markets, including India.



Will share its underpinnings and engines with the Kia KY MPV. Expected to debut in Indonesia first.

Kia has confirmed that the KY MPV will reach showrooms by early next year. There is no confirmation from Hyundai on its derivative of this MPV

Like the name! Stargazer is so different from the Hyundai family names. MPVs have their own demand, the Hyundai badge and competitive pricing may grow the segment.
