Here's the PDF for all available cars/ bikes.

Manufacturers regularly conduct auctions to sell leftover inventories/ self-use cars/ Media/ Marketing cars.

TN - registered will most likely be BMW company official cars
Non-Registered - Media/ Marketing.

Sheet - Inputs from a member of group.

Re: BMW India's factory auctions of used cars

Thanks so much for the list Turbanator.

Guys, what do you reckon the Z4's ideal price be? M40i, 3000 run and warranty expires in 2022. And its unregistered?

Re: BMW India's factory auctions of used cars

Thanks Turbanator.

Team, I am looking for a car for my wife from this list. How much should a registed HR26 X1 (X1 sDrive20d M Sport), ~10K driven, 2019 be?

Since these cars have mostly exchanged some hands, driven by multiple people with little care would be no match for a similar car from a single owner. Also new X1s usally go for 7-10 lac discounts under good market conditions. So given all that, how much should one be willing to pay for such car (as an individual)? Dealers would obviously bid a bit less to make money, or maybe refurbish the car and dupe some customer.

Thank you for the FAQ, however I do not see any reference price as mentioned in the document.
Q21. How do I know what amount to bid?
Ans: Customer will be provided a reference price as an indication during the bidding process.
It is only given for reference purpose only, however customer can bid as per their judgement.

Is it visible once I pay Rs. 5000 and register myself to bid ?

Hi!
Are you talking about new, showroom-fresh X1s here?
And is 7-10 lacs a standard discount rate for X1 any time of the year?

Yeah, until Sep 2020 , X1 had a flat 7-8 lac discount. This year due to low production, discounts are low hence you see an artificial inflation in used car prices. Expect the discounts to come back by july-aug this year.

Thanks for the info!
I was planning to buy a new X1 but the discounts aren't much right now in Kolkata.
I would rather wait now and look for better discounts in Nov-Dec 2021, year-end time, when the discounts would be high again.

Re: BMW India's factory auctions of used cars

For the unregistered cars, one has to be sure if the engine is BS6 compliant. I see unregistered cars with 2019 or Jan 2020 manufacturing date. If anyone is planning to bid for such cars then ensure you have all the necessary information with respect to registration formalities

Re: BMW India's factory auctions of used cars

Hello, this is my first post on this forum!

I hope that a large number of these cars eventually make their way back on the pre-worshipped market. In South India(especially Karnataka) there is a huge lack of reasonably priced bimmers. Adding to this, wouldn't BMW generate more interest if the bidding was live? Doug Demuro seems to have had great success with his website which employs similar principles. Live auctions are great for generating buzz and are exciting to take part in as well! It would be much easier to digest that 5000 rupee bidding fee if I could see the price and bid accordingly.

None of the un-registered cars/ bikes were Euro-4. All unregistered cars were Petrol and Euro-6.

Auction should be over by now, perhaps the members who participated can share their experiences or bid prices ( )

Best of luck to everybody who participated. Do update here, whosoever gets the car of his choice

Both the 2020 X1 were unregistered & Diesel. Not sure whether they were Euro-6 as it's not mentioned in the list attached by you.

Yes, you are correct, I missed these (confession - have been looking at M cars mostly)

Must be Euro-6 as no manufacturer can sell an unregistered Euro-4 car, even as used. Yes, if someone has bid & won these, better recheck before paying advance

In the past, they will send Email to the winning bids only. Not sure, about this time. They have mentioned somewhere that results will be notified by 23rd.

Re: BMW India's factory auctions of used cars

The reference prices were so high, made no sense buying such shady history cars at those prices specially the X1, X4s.

I think some Ms and 7/X6 were decent for the price but i am sure bidding would have pulled up the prices there.

I had already paid 5k to view the prices so left a very low bid on a X4, i have no hopes of gettng it though, the reason is shrewd delhi dealers, they will pay a high price to pick the car, get it polished, cleaned, refurbished etc and sell it at 10% less than exshowroom. The sad part is customers pay. The delhi used car market is like a cartel now. Buying new cars never made this much sense.

Because if one explores the market for new cars, there is always one-two models in the range with hefty discounts and make more sense for moving away from your preferred car (used car model) for new, swanky one at the same price and anyway is 95% of what you wanted.

Not sure if whatever i wrote made sense, but i tried.
