Default 2nd-gen Mercedes GLA @ Auto Expo 2020

Mod Note: BHPian karan561's Mercedes-Benz GLA Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

Big shoutout to Rehaan for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

Mercedes-Benz opened bookings for the 2nd generation GLA-Class. The car is expected to be launched in October 2020. The global unveil took place in December 2019. The car measures 4,410 mm long, 1,834 mm wide and has a height of 1,611 mm. The wheelbase of the car measures 2,729 mm. Compared to the outgoing car, it is 15 mm shorter in length, but the wheelbase has gone up by 30 mm. The car is also taller by 104 mm.

At the front, GLA comes with a new grille flanked by LED headlights, a bonnet with 4 crease lines and a new bumper. It looks more aggressive compared to the previous-gen GLA. It also gets wheel arch cladding and doorsill cladding, a chrome window surround:

At the rear, the SUV gets new tail lights, a dual tone bumper and twin exhausts. The car was equipped with 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels:

On the inside, the GLA comes with a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel...

...and the MBUX infotainment system:

AC vents get this cool backlight. Also notice the light stripes along the centre console:

The MBUX system is not just a voice activated system, but an intelligent one too - it can recognize some requests made to it - e.g. the system can recognize "I want to go to Mercedesstraße in Stuttgart" and start navigation. Read more about it here (MBUX: Mercedes' Alexa-like voice assistant):

It gets a touchscreen system as well:

Some of the different displays that can be selected:

Ambient light in the AC vents...

...and it changes colour too!

Front doorpads and the dashboard get light stripes:

The rear seat is roomier than the outgoing car in both the headroom and the elbow room:

Rear door pads miss out the ambient strip, but get an LED that throws light on the door handle. The doors pads get an all-black theme like the interiors with red stitching:

481 liters of boot space claimed:

At last the GLA looks looks like a SUV. Any idea on the price?

Wow- even GLA comes with fully digital/virtual cockpit! And GLC makes do with 20th century console?

Shouldn't be very different from current prices. Given Mercedes' track record, they will price it with reason.
