Some confusion cleared; but SHVS is not worth 90K.

"Maruti Suzuki’s engine is paired with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system in the Baleno and Glanza, but not in the Dzire. Even then, Maruti Suzuki claims an economy of 23.26kmpl, just 0.61kmpl lower than the Baleno Smart Hybrid. It also has a low carbon dioxide output of 98g/km, 24g/km lower than the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel. Hence, Maruti Suzuki’s engine is cleaner though 4kmpl less fuel-efficient than the diesel it replaces."

Does the K12B have higher CO2 emission than the 1.3MJD? I wonder how media houses can go ahead and talk about a petrol engine "replacing" a diesel one. Maruti stopped diesels. That's about it. Why trying to sugar coat it! (sorry we all know why, money!)

Traditionally, Petrol engines emit more CO2 than Diesel engines, while Diesel engines emit more harmful gases like CO, NOX etc.

Yes yes, of course. I was just wondering if the K12B was emitting more. (Not to forget, the usual gasoline engines till recent generations also emit more CO than diesel I think. CO is generally a result of incomplete combustion in petrol engines. MPFi was the first thing that tackled it pretty well IIRC.)

Anyway, sorry

The 1.2 DualJet engine may come to Swift.

This way, Maruti can cash-in on the superior NA engine, use the economies of scale to price the car aggressively and make enough profits.

Yes, it seems. The 1242 K-series engine produces126g/km, while the Dualjet emits 98g and 1.3ddis emits 122g/km.

Re: Rumour: Maruti Dzire facelift could be launched in April 2020

The Maruti AMTs or probably all AMTs have these fairly known characteristics that the car will roll backward on a slope when it started from a standstill if the handbrake is not used. We have had tons of discussion on this in the Maruti AMT related thread.

Now, the 2020 DZire AMTs come with hill hold assist. Does this mean, Maruti has fixed (or changed) the AMT characteristics? Will it, when started from standstill on a slope, not go backward for a few seconds?

Nexon and XUV300 AMTs already have hill hold feature(But as per ownership reviews nexon rolls back a little). So it is not something newly developed by Maruti

The old Nexon did not have a proper hill hold feature. It relied on the cars torque to not let the car roll back. The BS6 Nexon has a dedicated Hill hold feature where brakes are applied instead of relying on torque.

Re: Rumour: Maruti Dzire facelift could be launched in April 2020

Has anybody bought, test driven the new Dzire facelift? Is the Dualjet motor significantly better than the previous version?

Any feedback please?
