Re: Ford Figo 1.2L petrol to get a torque-converter AT in Aug '20

If this Figo AT 1.2P is priced at 9L something OTR price then as a buyer I will happily purchase Jazz or Amaze CVT petrol or maybe an Amaze CVT diesel putting in an extra 1.5 lakh.

But in reality the H4 halogen bulbs make more sense since they can be easily upgraded to 100/90 bulbs at minimum cost. Most of the LED lights offered by manufacturers are useless and there is no way to increase the inadequate lighting.

Totally agree, most OEM LED's in 5-30L Bracket, are nothing but tools to blind oncoming traffic.
For actual illumination of road, one needs to look elsewhere, especially in foggy and rainy conditions.

I think it’s difficult for Ford to price it below 9 lakhs on road. The cheapest TC auto available is Polo comfortline TSI and it priced is at 9.9 lakhs on road. Even the Swift AMT pricing starts at 8.3 lakhs on road.

Polo has turbo engine which is also the reason for higher price. Although discontinued but Hyundai used to put TC in their Grand i10 which was below 9 so I dont think the argument for no TC under 9 is relevant.

Part of the reason for me arguing is because I am looking forward to this one and my budget is under 9

Pricing of Nios AMT is from 7.84 lakhs to 9.2 lakhs. A 6 speed TC should be much more expensive. Let us hope that Ford can price it well.

My Figo 1.5AT with TQ box was less than 9L on-road in titanium trim.

This will attract less duty thanks to the 1.2L engine. I am guessing 8.5L on-road for the Titanium plus trim.

Prices of cars gone up significantly in the last few years. Today a Wagon R costs 7.5 lakhs on road. 8.51 lakhs is the price of Manual Figo petrol Titanium blue ( plus) today.

Mine is just one and half years old, guess BS6 hardware and the usual price hike done at the end of the year have taken the price close to 9L.

Let's see how Ford prices it this time.

P.S Blu variant is still 8.30L in my city, this is without the usual discount figo petrol usually carries.

Most probably they will have one or two service centers functional in big cities for next 15 years (I think Indian law mandates that) and then there will be local garages who have their contacts.

Our Beat's servicing was done routinely, they also managed to get a new windshield after someone vandalized her. The bumper too was replaced by a local garage (they sourced it from GM Workshop). Similarly, our Linea's engine mounts were replaced rather quickly by our local FNG.

If I were in the same boat, I would probably not get any car with turbocharged petrol engine or a complex dct gearbox. For simple NA engine, I would go ahead and get one without much thought.
Thanks buddy! My friend is planning to go for test drive (I will be forced to join him) as soon as test vehicle is available
