The Amaze still remains a VFM buy in the petrol guise. Yes, Honda could have used this opportunity to fill more gaps by providing adjustable rear headrests, but at under 10 lakhs for the VX trim, it does make for a decent buy for someone looking at a spacious sedan at that price range.

Honda site says this -
*Amaze E Grade refers to Amaze 1.2 E MT (i-VTEC)/Amaze 1.5 E MT (i-DTEC)
*New Amaze S Grade refers to Amaze MMC 1.2 S MT/CVT (i-VTEC)/Amaze MMC 1.5 S MT (i-DTEC)
*New Amaze VX refers to Amaze MMC 1.2 VX MT/CVT (i-VTEC)/Amaze MMC 1.5 VX MT/CVT (i-DTEC)
^Leather refers to mix of genuine and synthetic leather

Is E variant the old model? What is the point in continuing it?

Re: Honda Amaze facelift launched at Rs. 6.32 lakh

Why hasn't Honda added ESP, TC and Hill Hold to the Amaze? Even the SWIFT AMT now gets ESP and Hill Hold. Surprised also that Honda has stuck with 2 airbags given the base variant of the City gets 4 now.

I know a friend who wants to buy the diesel CVT and was sorely hoping for 4/6 airbags and ESP from this facelift. And he cannot buy a City because he doesn't want petrol given his extensive running.

Old stock clearance, likely; Also, can cater to the cab market

Re: Honda Amaze facelift launched at Rs. 6.32 lakh

Honda should market this well. For me, the pricing is good. The S variant is decently loaded with most of the essentials. The first thought which came to my mind is, if Tiago NRG MT is priced at 6.57 Lakh, then Amaze S MT is super value at 7.16 lakh. If we see petrol AT, Tiago NRG is priced at 7.09 Lakhs, while Amaze S CVT retails at 8.06 lakhs. For the additional 97K you get a much bigger car, with a refined 4 cylinder petrol engine. Most importantly a smooth CVT over the Tiago's AMT.

In MT guise the Dzire VXi is priced closely. However CVT in AT makes Amaze AT a compelling proposition over Dzire AMT.

Pre-facelift Amaze did not have adjustable rear headrests even in the top variant. I hope they addressed this glaring omission in the facelift. Else

Re: Honda Amaze facelift launched at Rs. 6.32 lakh

Doubt if any car looked so outdated by the time of it's midlife refresh itself! Always felt that the Amaze was just too boxy and bland during the 2018 launch and it now looks like a generation old already.

If anyone has second thoughts on the outdated feeling - Honda also went and made a commercial which feels apt for the 90s -

A detailed video on the changes compared to the outgoing car -

Pricing of the Diesel Variant is atrocious.

The Aura, Altroz Diesels are cheaper by more than 1 Lakh.

Heck, even the i20 Diesel is cheaper.

13 lakhs + on road for a CVT Diesel which has 75 bhp and some 160 NM of torque.

What is Honda smoking?

True, I have never used cruise-control in my life, in forty years of driving. But I was a 'hypermiler' during the early days of my Civic (which does NOT have the cruise-control) and had to maintain a constant speed of around 75 kmph on nearly empty 4-lane roads here in deep south-india. It was a pain to keep holding the exact pressure with my right leg during very long drives (8 to 10 hour drive in a day).

I plan to hypermile again in my new car when I buy one!

(My best FE was 18 kmpl over 885 kms on the Civic).

Re: Honda Amaze facelift launched at Rs. 6.32 lakh

I think they are taking advantage if the fact that its the only offering with a Diesel +proper AT combo in that price band. And i hope the news of Honda moving to DEF in Amaze is true so that it justifies some of the cost increase.

Re: Honda Amaze facelift launch in India by August 18

Honda India seems to play very safe with the colour options don't they. They have some lovely options abroad. Too bad we hardly get any of them. The "new" Meteroid Grey is here and I suspect it will make its way to the rest of Honda India's lineup replacing the Modern Steel Metallic. The only exclusive colour available at the moment is the Amber Metallic on the WR-V.
