Re: November 2021 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

There was a time when Japanese workhorses are being used to run upto 3-4 lakhs kms before people would even think of letting them go. Such was the durability and reliability of Toyota / Honda / Suzuki.

Unfortunately, with the aim of selling more cars to same people, the Govt bring forward the rule of taking away a vehicle which is more than 15 yrs old.

Ideally, none of the cars in India are VFM now since it can't be used forever. When majority of cars are in garage most of the time, it actually makes far more economical sense to use Ola/Uber or a simple Auto than to buy overpriced cars anymore.

Tata is rocking. All models in 4 digit sales for quite a few months.
Likewise Mahindra too if you omit Alturas/KUV/Verito.
So great going for the Indian brands.
Also happy to see Alturas catching up with Gloster(80:100).

We may not see Scorpios much in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. But in Tier 3 towns and rural areas, we can find lot of Scorpios.
The same is true for Boleros as well.

Re: November 2021 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Maruti if you are reading this - Every manufacturer is enjoying growth of Indian car market except you.

Soon you will join the list of failed companies like Nokia -
If you don’t make Safe rated cars atleast make all the Nexa line up with 4* safety.
If you don’t get a BS6 Diesel - SUV markets are still Diesel prone
Make better looking cars both Exterior and Interior - Optional

Our heart aches to see your gradual slip as most of us started our car journey with a Maruti 800/Alto

Renault numbers look worrisome. Especially when they have three cars (Kwid, Kiger, Triber) tuned for India market. This is one company I hope does not go down.

Not taking anything away from the Innova's legendary brand reputation, but I really do think the Marazzo is a far better car than what is reflected by its sales' numbers. It looks decently competitive to me in front of the Innova and it makes me disappointed the way it failed in the market. Marketing disaster? Maybe, maybe not, but it genuinely deserved more love from the audience.

Top 10 cars exported in Nov. Dominated largely by the top 2 largest OEM's.

Re: November 2021 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Just curious, how come the Tiguan falls in the D2 segment while the Tuscon and Aircross fall in the D1. Is its because of the allspace ? If so, shouldn't we distinguish the two. In any event, there is no allspace with the latest iteration of Tiguan.
