You said it! I saw the Civic first in the USA and fell in love with the rear end.

Wow, the rear gives it a distinct BMW look.

Maybe its just me but I find the Indian/JDM Civic looks way way better than the american version. Infact the rear of the Indian civic reminds me more of the way sportier Integra/RSX than the american civic.

I visited a Honda Showroom last weeka and checked out the 1.8V.I like it!...Here's a pic...My only thingy against this car is it is too low for the haphazardly strewn lumps of tar on an uneven open pathway between illegally encroached construction that we call city roads in this country!!...

Phew ! Bangalore prices are almost 1.2 L more than that in Kolkata - 8/9% !! No wonder resale is higher there.

Yes and another observation I found is that if you hit a bump hard it can dent the exhaust pipe. The Civic has a flat floor no tunnel through the middle. What that means is that the exhaust does not go fully into the tunnel.

Any harder and not only will it hit the exhaust but it will hit the joint between the underbody and skirting. This will cause a dent to the skirting visible from the outside just below the rear door.

Unfortunately I realised this after hitting the TD vehicle on a bump when the car was loaded with 3 people.

My mind was made up on the Civic but this put me off as my lancer already has that problem and I dint want to go through the same all over again.

Yup, with 4 to 5 people and if you are a little bit fast onto a speed hump, or an inclination you can hit the underside.

Fortunately that didn't put me off, and its too good a car to ignore. Once you get to know about the car kinks, you will compensate for it.

On a side note, I checked to see if they could fit the Aux In cable into the 1.8S Civic. Not possible it seems.

:-(

When did he buy? Road taxes went up significantly. When I went to check out the prices, I was quoted very similar prices... maybe 1-2k here and there.

I got the Civic in Dec in Bangalore. The price at that time was

Civic MT - 12,76,000
Civic AT - 13,52,000

No leather seats in the S model. I don't think Honda gives that big a discount. Better check with your friend. :-)
