Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

But, isn't the company obliged to continue to serve existing/previous customers for at least 10 years since exit? My friend still finds parts for his Commander and Amby. The showrooms might not be there but old parts for Chevys are also available. How the service centers function after 3 years might be interesting to wait and watch.

I have also had a great experience with Dhone Ford Warje. Have been going to Dhone since my Figo days in 2016/17 and the service quality has been consistently great.

Most of the service advisors are also the same over the years (a sign of satisfaction) so their knowledge on the vehicles and issues is very good and I think this makes the biggest difference. The service centre also has enough business and they have confidently shared that there will be no issues going forward as well.

With my Ecosport now Wolf stage 1+ remapped, there is absolutely no urge to upgrade and I plan to keep this great car for another couple of years.

Same here. Very happy with ford service. I do not think i will ever sell the car. When it would finally be time, i will make that engine a showpiece. What a gem of an engine. I am currently in Kolkata and serviced at Kaikan Ford, Birati

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I have a 2012 Fiesta Classic (Diesel), absolutely no problem in getting it serviced. Sometimes some parts take some time to be procured by the service center but no problem with that. I recently got a full body work done for removal of all scratches and dents and repainting by the ford service center and they did a good job. My car has done 1.2L km hopefully i get to keep it for another 1L km with no service related problems

Ironic is the fact that people didn't rush to buy Ford when they were present in India citing issues like reliability, costly spare parts and poor service experience.

After Ford's exit from India, we are realizing how it is similarly cost effective to maintain Ford as compared to Hyundai or Maruti, in addition to getting a safer car with strong body shell.

I still remember travelling in my friend's diesel Ford Fiesta throughout Maharashtra and it was the car which is still is close to my heart.

Hope Ford returns keeping its DNA intact.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

It's good to learn that Ford service experience is still healthy throughout the country. I initially thought only the states in and around Tamil Nadu would have good experience with Ford as Ford was primarily based in Chennai(outskirts of Chennai). But we have fellow BHPians from Maharashtra, West Bengal and Delhi reporting good experience with the brand.

Is it because Ford was primarily based in Tamil Nadu, and most of the parts travel from Tamil Nadu to other states? Not very sure, but that might be the case. Here in Chennai, the parts, if not available in the Spare parts store, usually arrive in 2 working days once an order is placed.

What an amazing performer this little diesel engine is!
This engine paired with the 1st gen Figo would have been a match made in heaven.
Sorry to hear about the the rattling noise, hope it gets sorted soon. Coming to the Ford Aspire, I have booked Figo/ Aspire on Zoomcar quite a few times(I have this mindset that I will always drive another Ford, when I'm in a different city, when my Ford is not with me) and had a ton of fun with the cars. The 1.5 TDCi engine is indeed a gem and Ford's driving experience is anyways unmatched.

Ouch, sorry for triggering your OCD. The picture was taken at my local beach, on a Sunday afternoon when the place was deserted and was parked that way for taking some pics.

Nope, I was not aware of that. So they are not closing down, right? Just moving to a new place?

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate event and also the way Ford is handling the issue. As I have mentioned above, delay in parts might be due to the distance between Chennai and Gurgaon. I am no Ford insider, so I can only guess this might be the reason. Hope things get sorted soon.

I am aware that Ford had a plant in Gujarat as well, and Gujarat can also be a place where Ford parts are produced.

Yeah they are, but the dedication with which they are supporting the current owners deserves an applause. As I mentioned in the first post, Ford service centers are still operational in Tier 2 cities like Kanchipuram, where Skoda/VW/Honda owners either take their cars to Vellore or Chennai to get the service done.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I have a 5 year old Ecosport diesel and been very happy with the service experience. I could see Ford is serious about this when my service advisor, after my last service, pleaded vehemently for nothing less than a 10/10 rating when the ford guys check for feedback over a call after the service. He said 'pls contact me anytime for any issues and I will make sure to resolve them, but dont reduce the rating anything below 10'.

My only grouse is, I asked for replacing the AV unit in my trend variant with the one in the S variant and they declined. I was hoping after Ford's exit they would be flexible with such requests but it seems technically it is difficult to retrofit the S variant AV in my car.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I have an 8 year old EcoSport Petrol AT, and I am quite satisfied with the service even after Ford's exit. Vibrant Ford (Hyderabad) and PPS Ford (Yelahanka) provides excellent service, all spare parts seem to be quite available and the workshops are always full with old Fords getting serviced- so kudos to Ford India and its service partners

The partners are of course, pivoting. PPS Ford has set up a BYD dealership in the same facility. I was told they will retail Ford's imported portfolio as well (soon).

I would say this was one exit that was very well handled by the departing company. I wish Ford comes back with an EV only portfolio.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I got myself a pre-loved 2018 Ecosport S TDCi from the used market last year, While the ownership has been nothing less than stellar, the first service since change in ownership was about 2 weeks back.
The service was as described elsewhere, seamless pick and drop, no push from the SA to add-on irrelevant services, frequent updates on the progress, a timely delivery, and very reasonable (surprising in my case, given my last car was a Honda Brio, with a routine 8k for 6 monthly service).
What stood out was what happened afterwards. A few days back, while my wife and I were travelling in the afternoon on a Saturday, the ambient temperature readout dropped to (-)27 degree C, and as a result the climate control went bonkers, blasting hot air to 'heat' the cabin to 22 degree C. My gut said that the temperature sensor either went kaput, or is touching the condenser plumbing, since the temp gradually rose after switching off the AC.

After finishing off what we set out to do, I gave a call to the service adviser at 6pm, asking if I can come in by closing time. As traffic in Bangalore can seldom be, I only reached by 6:45, 15 minutes beyond the closing time. While I was mentally prepared to return for the day and schedule a subsequent visit some time in the week. Surprisingly, the manager immediately called up two technicians, who promptly took out the headlamp and gained access to the sensor. Understandably, it was beyond working hours, so getting a spare was out of question. But the technician diligently disassembled the temp sensor, blew compressed and fit it back, asking me to monitor the temps in the drive back, and come back on Monday in case it doesn't work. Eventually the compressed air did work, and the CC has been working flawlessly, atleast until now.

Shoutout to PPS Domlur for the timely service and more importantly, taking a deviation for a customer at hand. I hope the experience will continue for a long long time. If this is how Ford treats its customers, I'm genuinely surprised over why they couldn't sell enough cars to keep the business going.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I bought a pre-owned 2016 Ecosport TDCi Titanium (O) variant. Before my purchase I visited JSP Ford service at Kudlu Gate, Bangalore. This was in Nov 2021 after their exit from Indian market. The service center was as busy as any. In fact, it was busier than any Hyundai Service center I had visited for servicing my Getz prior. That gave me some confidence that I can go ahead with the purchase and I am glad that I have been proven right.
Dec 2022, I did my annual service and the car was picked up from my residence at Electronic city and dropped back after service. The service advisor was updating me and taking my permission for additional part replacements. Everything went smooth and I had one of the best service experience. The service advisor requested me to give him a 10/10 rating. This goes on to say that Ford is still serious about their existing customers.

Even now the service center is as busy as it gets and it is better to take prior appointments than a walk-in for anything.

After 10 yrs & 1.9 lakh kms, my Figo 1.4 TDCI still runs great. Have always got it serviced at Fortune Ford, Abids or Tolichowki branch in Hyderabad. Even after Ford's exit, the ASC has been doing great. Hope this continues.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

There are two service centres in Chennai: Dhruvan Ford and Chennai Ford. Both perform reasonably well. Ford's customer service is the next point of escalation. Yeah, the majority of the spare parts are available, and the service support is good.

These dealerships do an excellent job of following up with their clients and promptly reminding them of their service period.

By submitting the component number or a picture of the part together with the vehicle's VIN number over WhatsApp, you can get in touch with SMP Spares, and they'll respond before the day is out. Particularly for Fiesta, there is some delay in some of the pieces.

Due to Ford's expertise with their 1.4/1.5 TDCi engines, the majority of customers still own their vehicles and there haven't been any significant sales of them.

Ford is no longer listed on some of the government insurance firms' live lists and are now displayed as obsolete models and they reduce the IDV to a lower value. I moved to National Insurance from New India. Heard United has also reduced the IDV.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

In the past, i owned Fusion, All New Fiesta and the Old Endeavour. I moved away from Ford due to a lack of newer products.

On 7th April, I picked up a Dec 2018 built /2019 registered 26K run Ford Freestyle TDCi. I have driven almost 2K kms and thoroughly enjoy the driving pleasure of the 1.5 TDCi and well-mannered handling.

I have booked a service @ Dhruvan Ford on 25th April and this thread is encouraging. I wish Ford would restart manufacturing in India (Yeah!! “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride“).

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

Once a Ford, always a Ford, I always say and Ford should be appreciated when it comes to service back up. Now, can they do better? Definitely. But in my experience, most of their SVCs have all the parts necessary and pretty much very communicative for queries, break-up and what not and proactively follow-up for any discrepancy. I own a Figo Trend 1.5 TDCi and so long it's been fruitful journey.

Well, you bought an Icon and Ikons live forever, don't they.. D

Old schoolers have a charm of their own. My favorite would be the Ford Escort, the front fascia, the grille all of it just made me go awe back, the full green console, sexy personified.

Keep her shiny and enjoy her!

Cheers!

Never had an issue with Ford Suryabala Coimbatore. My Fiesta 1.6S is serviced there and all parts are sourced without major hiccups. Advisor Mohan Raj is very helpful. I have completed 1.1Lakh kms on the Fiesta and hope to do 1L more.
