Highway - 14.5-15 kmpl (100% AC, can't remember when i was last overtaken on the highway)

Happened to go on a long drive on a very sedate driving over the weekend. My uncle was sitting next to me and made sure i never cross 80 km/h :Frustrati

Being a night drive, there was not much of traffic and i never had to slow down even once. Over a 250km drive, i achieved a FE of 17.5 kmpl :Shockked:, which i never thought would be possible based on my prior highway driving experience (ofcourse ripping the car to its limits)

Car: Palio 1.2 NV Sport
Run: 491 KM
Fuel: 31.95ltr
Avg: 15.36
AC: Around 50-55%
Highway and City: 70% highway-30% city

Fiesta Duratec - City 10-11km Occasionally use the A/C
Highway 12-13km ( Really!!!) , Avg speed maintained generally is around 100

Car: Esteem 2002 VXI Limited Edition
City:12kMPL with AC
HIghways: 15-16KMPL with AC

Miss my esteem, i should have never sold it :Frustrati

2004 Santro gave 12/15 (city/highway) with 2 people and 100% A/C
2008 Spark gives 14/18 (city/highway) with a stop and go traffic in the city. 100% A/C

Your FE does seem low for the Alto. As mentioned earlier by 14000rpm, you should get anywhere between 15-16 kmpl in BLR traffic with the a/c. On the highway, you can easily cross 22-23 kmpl with the a/c on.

i10 ERA 1.1 irde

I am getting 13 kmpl in Bangalore's heavy traffic with full AC.

Measured using full tank to full tank auto cut off method.

I always use shell normal petrol.

Rohan,
Bangalore

The Getz is about 4 years old and has driven about 18,000 kms. It has the following performance mods:
1) Automech FFE
2) Green cotton wind filter
3) Castrol Edge synthetic oil
4) OWS Irridium plugs
5) Last 5000 odd kms on HP Power or Shell premium petrol

It gives me a mileage of about 10 in city and around 13 on highways with AC On always.

The spark is about 3 months old, just completed first service. No mods. It has given me 10.5 in city with AC on always. Havent taken it on highways yet. I have been filling normal petrol on this.

The city drive as expected mostly involves 1,2,3 gears and
rarely the use of 4th and 5th.

Petrol is always filled up to auto cut off.

1. Wagon-R Vxi, 2002, approx 44700 Kms2. Safari 4x4 VX, 2009, ~3400 Kms3. Bullet Electra 5s, 2006, ~12500 Kms-BJ

Swift Vdi
15 kmpl in city
18 - 20 kmpl highway
all drives 100% AC

auto cut off? you mean when the gun shuts off, you don't brim it up further. is that right? I always stop the pump attendant from filling it till it spills.

Ikon Flair
