My esteem carb, tank full - auto cutoff.

In city: without A/C 10km/litre under sane driving.
With AC - 9km/litre
I regret not going for the palio 1.6 every time I see the mileage figures on my esteem.

Highway - recent trip on chennai-blore highway
12-13km/litre, 3rd/4th gear - 110km/hr
80km/hr - 5th gear at exactly 2000 rpm should give a minimum of 14km/litre on the highway.

maruti 800 '97 carb --City -16kmpl. Highway-NA

maruti esteem '02-- city-11kmpl (with ac),Highway-14-15kmpl (with ac)

Maruti Baleno '06-- City-11kmpl (with ac),Highway-13-14kmpl (with ac)

Maruti SX4 '08 --City-9kmpl (with ac),Highway-12-13kmpl (with ac)

the cars are driven in an average manner,that is no unnecessary reving (except for sometimes) and neither are they driven like old man to attain maximum efficiency as well.the city mileage is for sparse to mild traffic of chandigarh.
The sx4 however is chauffuer driven mostly and so he does rev it a bit more at times,maybe hence the lower economy figures

2007 MARUTI SWIFT ZXI- city 12kmpl, highway 15-16kmpl. Max recorded is 17kmpl.
2007 HONDA CIVIC S MT - City 11-12, Highway 12-13kmpl. Max recorded is 14kmpl.

Thats a very low efficiency you are getting from your 800,considering that even your swift/esteem has better figures to boast off,and even your civic matches the city economy of 800.Is your 800 running with some mods or is it a mistype? I am shocked to see such a less mileage from 800.Even after thrashing it like there is no tomorrow worst i managed was about 14kmpl,recorded over a week of hard driving.

Just checked by tank full to tank full method again just after service and now its down to 8.3 km/l :Frustrati damn why is it so low? This is 100% city driving with 90% ac on and am now running 165/65 yoko adrives. Petrol is from the same shell bunk. Normal unleaded and this is normal sedate driving only.

FE of last 2 Trips to Delhi

Fuel Used: 50 Ltr.
KM Covered: 1096 (600KM Highway and 500KM City)
AC: 80%
Total Weight: 4 PPL (250KG) Luggage (50 KG)

FE: 21.92 This includes idling for 1 hour+ and geri (gedi).

Last Trip

Fuel Used: 44 Ltr (Fuel is still there around 1/4 i guess)
KM Covered: 750KM (500KM Highway and 250 City)
AC: 100%
Total Weight: 300 KG

FE: 17.04 and this includes heavy driving within Delhi and took me more than an hour to get out of Airport Parking.

Too bad i cannot tell the actual FE of the last trip as engine is Kaput :Frustrati

2003 Opel Vectra -- City 9.5 (AC on always when engine on, but engine off at long stoplights)
HWY - B'lore Mysore @ ~120 = 11.7
Long Distance -- Bangalore, Virajpet, MAttanur, Kalpetta, Bangalore = 10.7 (lots of slow bad roads and steep ghats)

I get the following on my Linea multijet:

1. 25+ Kmpl on highway with two adults when I set speed limit to 90 Kmph, driven cautiously (avg speed being 60 Kmph at the end of long drive)
2. 23 Kmpl on highway with two adults when I set speed limit to 100 Kmph (avg speed being 65 Kmph at the end of long drive).
3. 21.5 Kmpl on highway when driven as one should drive normally.
4. 19 Kmpl on highway when driven with aggressive overtaking, but not blast the engine on every opportunity.
5. ~16 Kmph on highway when driven very aggressively, i.e. blast it on every opportunity. In this mode, I literally overtake anybody on the road including similarly aggressive drivers and throttle all the way to 165 Kmph whenever allowed.
6. 12 Kmpl in Bangalore city, driven decently aggressive.
