The GTX as well as the Sport wore 175/65/R14 tube type tyres and the Stile wore 175/65/R14 Tubeless rubber (Goodyear GPS2). Should that make a difference? I don't know.

Back to the topic - after all the votes and the discussions that have happened - I still havent seen the purpose/intent of the poll. I could have bet my hat that the RS would win the Poll because it IS the best car here.

Superavi
I am happy that the RS is leading . It is the best that you can ever get out of the four in the poll.

I am confused on the purpose of this thread too.

Wouldnt better rubber - better grip make for faster acceleration? That's my theory, I could be wrong here, but that is what I think.

AFAIK, tubless tires will improve ride quality, I don't no if they will improve acceleration or not. Tube type tyres doesn't always mean bad rubber in terms of grip.

palio 1.6 - does not really appeal to me, plus mod possibilities are limited.
the skoda rs- like another member mentioned, making just 150bhp from a turbo engine is a joke. the honda guys got 140bhp frm a 1.8lt NA engine.

if i was forced to buy any of the above guess it will be the skoda as atleast its got good handling and abs, airbags
Was expecting some answers like the one above. Not turning this thread into a Fiat vs Baleno saga.

Extreme_torque, make hay while the sun shines . And I suggest you not get personal.

Did someone ask about the handling of the GTX compared on the OHC on track? If so the Vtec faired better (no I am not being biased). Will look up the pics I have and see if I can post them here. Infact, a palio and a OHC were gunning at one another at one of the track days (can't remember whether it was an official or an unofficial one).

And for those of you who wanted to know the intend of the thread, it was simple. Seeing a lot of people recommend a lot of cars (some pertaining to performance cars), I had a question as to how many have actually driven the above mentioned cars before passing judgements (or suggestions) or would have the courage to put their money where their mouth (or heart) is should the need arise for them. Its a pity that some think this thread is to insult them. Like they say, its all in the mind. And seems the mind has gotten used to this.

Well,
I just finished 35k kms in my 2 year old Baleno...still no niggles (touchwood) anywhere and still gives me 12.5-13 kmpl despite the fact that my ride to office is 2.5 km long with 4 speedbrakers and since I live so closeby, I am forever in a hurry to reach (always leave at the 11th hour).
I like the car so much (it was a company car..always with me from day 1) that when I changed over companies, I bought out the car from my previous company..
Needless to say, the time and effort I put in some good ICE (2 JBL Amps, Sub, Components~50k+) and alloys (league 194 with Michelin energy XM1 185/65R14) was another factor in my decision...

Voted for Palio 1.6, because I'm owning it currently and having been experienced for last 15 months, VFM car within Rs 5 Lakhs and more over that lovely Canary Yellow one which looks stunningly beautiful compared to other cars (may be subjective) and proportional dimensions (not too low or not too higher)
