So Indian version of the 2024 Swift will not come with ADAS & RADAR and it's just a facelift ?

WOW! Maruti talking of high tensile and ultra high tensile steel usage. What have we come to see a day like this?

Looks like BNCAP release will be perfectly timed to showcase "safety".

re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

Maruti is a case study on how to kill legends with slow poisoning.

Omni, 800, Zen, Baleno. Now Swift.

They struggle with the Activa Phenomenon, until they one day realize, oh, we should have upgraded the car!! The 3rd and 4th generation look like one segment below cars. The Wagon R now looks bigger than this. The 1st and 2nd Gen cars looked one segment up, they looked Larger than competition.

What sad journey the swift has.

That hideous screen reminds me of my uncle's Texla TV from 80s with a lockable shutter
And no ADAS makes it a face lift only.
Rest all will be clear after BNCAP / GNCAP testing if they ever go for it.

re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

Thank god I bought a Swift VXi AMT in Feb 2020 for Rs.6.3 L on road (after exchange). With every new launch, it looks more and more VFM. 4 cylinder engine is butter smooth and has been driven 56000 kms. Many more miles to go....

re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

Unfortunately, all my predictions were spot on including price estimate. If people thought about and bought the Swift today, considering it value for money, nothing has happened to suggest it is still not. The cost increase is in line with the added equipment. So, cost will not be a barrier to future Swift buyers. The shape is more or less same in last 2 generations. So, that should also not be a barrier. The safety factor will also be better. So, even that should not be an impediment to the Swift buyers. All the competition mentioned existed before launch of the new Swift. So, even the competition does not matter to the Swift buyer. What remains is the Suzuki nameplate. Unfortunately that evokes an immediate negative reaction (with some justification).

Does anyone know the central touch screen Bezels are so thick only in the middle/lower variants or the top variants have thinner bezels ?

Good to see the focus on safety. But top variants are too pricey. It makes me believe that the next gen Dzire’s top variants’ price will surely be touching the base variants of City, Verna & Slavia.

The bezels are thick in the middle / lower models. Top models have bigger screen, though bezels still look bigger in top model also.

re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

Hello All,

Please find attached herewith new SWIFT brochure for reference.

With 6 airbags from base variant, I would like to see this as standard practice across all cars in SUZUKI ARENA.

Regards,

What's with that weird instrument cluster? The RPM meter has a bezel whereas the speedo doesn't? Please tell me that's the instrument cluster for the lower variants. It looks a bit odd and out of place. I guess Maruti is consciously doing this to make the Nexa version (Baleno) look more appealing.

Re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

I think for a model that would be sold in 5 digit numbers every month, the standard safety features are a welcome change. 3 cylinder engine without hybrid is an abomination for this name plate. The aspirational values of swift are reduced after Gen2, IMO. Gen2 diesels were peak Swift. That said I would laud again the active and passive safety features.

Re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

2024 Maruti Swift garners over 10,000 bookings in 8 days

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it has received over 10,000 bookings for the new Swift in just 8 days. The 2024 Swift was officially launched earlier today, but bookings had commenced on May 1 itself.

Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh-gnhsepkxeaajphr.jpg

The fourth-generation Swift is available in five variants – LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi+, with prices starting at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2024 Swift is available with a new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 80 BHP @ 5,700 rpm and 112 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

The new Swift carries forward some of the design traits of its predecessor. It features a low-slung grille flanked by large sweptback headlamps and a clamshell bonnet. The car has L-shaped LED DRLs and clear-lens LED taillights.

The latest-gen Swift gets a driver-focused cabin with a 3-spoke steering wheel, a twin-dial instrument cluster and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. The car gets features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless charger, a height-adjustable driver seat, electric ORVMs and automatic climate control. Safety features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and Hill Start Assist are offered as standard across all variants.

Re: Fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift caught testing in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 6.49 lakh

The only problem I have with this variant breakup is that the "SmartPlay Pro+ with 22.86 cm Touch Screen" is available only in the ZXi+ variant, and not even ZXi. That means that every other variant gets the massive bezel. Also auto ac is available only in ZXi and ZXi+.
