Folks - what will help Fiat sell the GP will be its A.S.S, Performance and Price in that order. I guess look wise its alright and sedate interiors will not matter too much (Its much better than swift anyways).
If GP can deliver the performace of swift (obviously mileage) then the diesel version will sell like hot cakes, not sure of the petrol version though.
Any insights on the performace please:

These days asymmetrical is symmetrical! Don't know how good or bad it'll look in flesh. We need to wait for 10 more days for that.
hey got the first look and feel of the car really European one would say but prefectly done for Indian roads.

Just got back from a first hand view & feel of the baby.
Okie.It looks extremely cute from the front. It might sound strange coming for a guy.But its cuteness sure did take my breath away.And I used to think that my better half's Spark was the cutest in the market.Unfortunately, no more.
The boot is as big as that of the Getz.Not as spacious as the i20.But, c'mon, its big enough to fit me or 2 suitcases.
Lots of legroom both at front and rear.However, i found the roofline a bit low.Maybe because I had the seat cranked up to the highest position.6ft+ ppl might need to check that out.Overall good visibility.
The dash is almost similar to that of the Linea.The interiors are all black.Black seats with the Punto symbol stiched on it.The fabric door pads are also black. Black and grey dials with orange backlight.Dash is again black and silver.
The integrated audio system seemed decent and so is the ACC.
Cranked her up! Loved the Fabia style key-fob. There is a minimal diesel clutter.Not as loud as the Swift tho. Close the door and the clatter is nominal.Since I was in the middle of a huge ground and no external sound, I could make out the engine. In busy traffic, it'd be a difficult job though.
Gear box seemed slick and to the point.
Few minor details which i loved the most:
The steering is small and sporty.Best part of it is the thumb-pads to rest the most important fingerclap:.Steering and gear lever are leather covered.
Apologies for no pics(mainly for security reasons).
Did not drive it yet :(
The launch is less than 10 days away (hopefully) and still no sign of any teasers, ads, reviews on any channel/magazines , except the small banner on the homepage?
Are they sleeping?
@ms001 - Fiat India is definitely not back with a bang, not atleast the way they are going about the launch of GP :)
On the hind sight, I think Fiat is waiting for the launch of Jazz to be done with before starting the campaign.

I feel the same that its a wait and watch game played by the fiat guys, may be they want to do it right the first time for punto.
may be thats the reason for strategically placing the launch after Jazz.
still the website needed to have more meat to chew on for the next 10 days!
When i went to car and coffee meet yesterday i hfished out some info
1.4 petrol is only available in emotion pack variant. It does not have chrome strips. No boot opening from remote like linea and no rear a/c vent for back seats.
Interior is black with punto symbols on seats.
Price: Got info that the top model emotion pack petrol/ diesel is priced at 25000 more than the swift top models respectively..............
One more info is that these vehicles will be reaching the dealership before 14th and will be at display from 15th though the launch is only 2 days later.

Seems like there is only one Punto in the whole stockyard! Did you manage to see any more in different colours? I am really kneen to see one in white.

are you sure about the only 1 variant part? that too 25K above the SWIFT ZXi.
that would be a disaster IMO.

swift vdi (abs) comes at a shade below 6L otr mumbai

Won't that hamper the sales of the Indica Vista? Why would Tata allow that?
Punto D E+ at less than 6 OTR :Shockked:, i cant believe it.
If thats the case, FIAT for sure has a winner on its hands and this car will do much better than Linea as Linea has already improved brand image of Fiat a little bit and with that pricing its an icing on the cake.
FIAT - :thumbs up keep that VFM proportions and hope this car does well.
Isnt that a good price but am still a bit afraid whther its a correct price info or not.
Seems i will also get a 1.3 MJD for daily city runs if not emotion+ then dynamic for sure.:) who cares if i own a Linea 1.4 man. 1.3 is good for this hot hatch.
