Avigna Motor Sports has launched a slew of products including All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and quad bikes in India. The company has also inaugurated a new showroom in Bangalore. It is located at Prestige Copper Arch, Infantry Road, Bangalore.

Avigna claims that the vehicles are imported as CKD units and assembling them at its plant in Pune. The company plans to focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in India.

The showroom displays a range of vehicles including ATVs used for motorsports, electric golf carts, amphibious watercrafts, and agricultural vehicles. it also showcases sportswear.

These vehicles have engines with displacements of 125cc, 200cc, 250cc and 500cc. Customised vehicles with engines upto 1,200cc are also available. The vehicles cost between Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. The sportswear is priced between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 2,00,000.

Avigna is in the process of setting up a 6 km dirt track at Hennur.

ATVs can get an RTO registration in the state of Karnataka. The driver does not need a licence. However, an ARAI approval is required, which is still pending.

Excellent!
If it gets this ARAI certification, Do you think it's possible other states(Maharashtra : P) will follow suit?

"Note: ATVs are for Off Road use and cannot be registered with any Regional Transport Authority. No Driving License is required to operate an All Terrain Vehicle in India"

According to their website:

Any reason why a Can-Am Outlander image is used for this article and not one of their own products?

Cheers

They'll probably update the website in the coming days.

The image was taken from their website. Infact, it's still being displayed on it. CKD? Replacing it anyway.

Re: Where to buy? Quad Bike / ATV

Here is one based in MH.

http://www.harisonmotors.com/contact.html

" Harison motors, an Indo-overseas techno venture has launched four models of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) ranging from 50 cc to 200 cc, in Pune on Thursday.

Positioned under the FUNTY brand, the ATVs are into four variants viz Junior (50cc), Striker (110 cc), Fighter (150 cc) and Terminator (200 cc).

Funty, an All Terrain Vehicle is a sporty vehicle, which can be used for sheer fun, off road utility, transportation, adventurous sports and can be used in locations like beaches, hilly tracks, sand-dunes, and other such areas that offer an interesting setup for biking. The price range of these vehicles is from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh.

Speaking on this, J S Bhavnani, chairman, Harison Motors said, "It is the only off road vehicle in Inida. Our aim is to promote these bikes in India as well as the relative sports activities. Initially we will supply it to resorts, adventure clubs and farmers. The ‘funmatic’ engine of Funty will offer different ways to express the joy of rider. Our motto is quenching the thirst of Indian Motor Sports enthusiasts."

The company is setting up a plant at Karad near Pune, which will be operational by March 2012, with the capacity of producing 15,000 ATVs per month. It has invested around Rs 300 crore for the Karad plant. In the initial phase, Funty will be sold in entire Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Goa through authorised dealer network.

Next year Harison Motors will expand to North India and South India. Meanwhile company will sell and service Funty, any where in India, as per demand. It is appointing four dealers in Maharashtra.

Initially, the company has no plans for exports. According to Bhavnani, the parts of this vehicles are imported from Taiwan and it has got technical support from a Japanese company. However, Bhavnani did not disclose name of the Japanese company.

Re: Where to buy? Quad Bike / ATV

Hi!

I bought an ATV 2 months back as a gift to my dad but in just 10 days we were able to scathe all surrounding areas and are too lazy to take it to other places in a jeep. We live at a farmhouse so the surrounding area is very entertaining on ATVs. Now that I am leaving the country for further studies and the ATV will in turn lie useless I thought I can give it away to someone who might use it. If anybody needs one do ping me(+91 9950088401) for further details. It has a 150cc Engine, auto transmission, utility racks and is fully operational and sound!

Cheers
