I hope they add an automatic transmission in the diesel car, preferably not the AMT but a DSG box.

Tata being Tata and to keep Nexon as superior to Altroz, unfortunately that's highly improbable.

I didn't get your point, do you mean an unresponsive steering wheel ? My altroz's steering is pretty responsive.

Re: Tata Altroz facelift caught testing; New details revealed

A question to forum members, what could be the reason TATA is not replacing the old revotron engine with the new GDI?

I cannot find much sense in continuing to still sell the old engine when new one is better in terms of refinement and power delivery. This refresh were a good opportunity to replace the old petrol engine.

Simple. Business sense!

They want the GDi to maintain it's superiority as a premium offering. If Nexon or Punch and Curvv have the same engine, what's special in Curvv over the lower end products? Also they have used technology that is little expensive that keeps costs high. Larger cars need more power and GDi delivers more power than DI turbocharged engines, hence segregated.

Hope they launch it soon.
The EV Altroz was ready in Tata R&D even before the Punch EV. Somehow there is a rumor that Tata engineers were not happy with the Ground clearance of the Altroz EV and decided not to launch the same. With a lighter platform, it would have been a killer in terms of range.

I am 6 feet tall and if there is driver seat height adjustability, I always like to seat higher. I faced this problem with the Altroz, Nexon and the New Safari. A few other BHPians have also reported this issue with Tata cars. A couple of months ago my family & my friend's family went on a weekend trip with my friend's brand new Safari and I was driving it. The drive started with a little disappointment because my left knee was rubbing against the dashboard, though I was fully enjoying driving the car. It was powerful and it drove quite well. After about two hours of driving, suddenly it came to my mind that the New Safari comes with steering reach adjustability! Thereafter I managed to seat comfortably and continued the rest of the drive. But whenever I drive another friends' Altroz, I can never settle to my usual higher driving position. I always push him to get his Baleno instead as I find the Baleno so easy to drive and its smooth engine is a plus.

I hope a huge rebound comes wherein people ditch these SUVs for proper cars once again.
From an OEM perspective they can get a way with charging a premium on pseudo SUVs. This will change if consumer demand abates. Unfortunately looks dim. This is a worldwide phenomenon. Unfortunate.

It is strange to know. I am 6'2 and have kept the driver seat in the highest position the last year (had severe back issues from a lifting session and hence the taller seating). Never once did the dashboard foul with my knees.

Looks properly European now. I am surprised how headlight tech has trickled down so fast to the lowest class of cars, in the last three years. From reflective halogens, to halogen projectors to led projectors then led reflectors and now these tiny little lights in the Elevate, Dzire and Altroz.

The only reason I can think of is that may be I sit closer to the steering and more upright than you do. Because, as I've mentioned in my previous post, once I pulled back the driver seat of the New Safari and adjusted the reachability of the steering to my comfortable driving position, it was a breeze for the rest of the drive. But, since the Altroz does not come with steering reach adjustability, the dashboard always fouls my left knee, whenever I try to settle to my usual higher driving position.
