New TATA Safari Dicor 2.2 VTT advertisement

Has anybody seen the new TATA Safari Dicor 2.2 VVT ad on TV? It runs really long and explains each of the features one by one meticulously. It almost sounds like a TV Channel road test. That is probably the reason why "Headlines Today" channel had a small bar on the left upper corner marked "ADVT"

Is this a new trend in advertising or is the volume of sales of the brand new Tata Safari Dicor 2.2 VVT not as much as Tata expected?

Tata always seems to start off with long ads, which then get edited.

I remember to check out any white Safari that I see nowadays in Chennai for the VTT badge, and most of them carry the badge (no it is not the same set of cars) .

So I guess they seem to have got a good response, but Safari would never become a volume seller like the Innova or a Scorpio.

I saw it on NDTV last week or so.. Advt looks more like test drive of the vehicle by the channel.
Anyways i liked the advt ....
Till now all Safari advertisements are eye catching... I just love it

"LINES" ad itself was a big ad, and i am sure they must have spent a big budget on it. (Not to mention that I LOVED IT, like most other Safari ads)

Why a new ad so soon? Product has not clicked with the masses as they expected?

What makes you think it was big budget? There were no stars, no special effects? They would have spent a fraction of what chevrolet did with the UVA, saif and rani commercial.

The add is like a small test drive. But it is as good as the old safari adds.

By Big budget he must be referring to time slot on TV channels. They charge almost a crore for 10 sec slot...

Its 5-6 lakhs/ 10 seconds and that too for something which is really really big with huge viewership... say a world cup final or an India pakistan match.

Ya. TATA ads are usually lengthy. Then, after showing it for a week or two, they shows only parts of it.
