Team-BHP New car launch of the Year 2008

The time has come to pick our favourite new car launch of 2007. Pick the car you think will have the biggest impact on the car market or a car that has really made you sit up and take notice. Unlike some other polls the team-bhp polls are completely democratic and transparent and choices will be made without any "pressure"

Cheers.

Shocking But yes, It Aint BMWs or the Mahindra or the VOlvo or even the VW... SX4 is the one which has changed the way people look at the Honda City, The Hyundai Verna, and others. personally dont feel anything great about the car but this car has single handidly changed the C Segment.

Again i dont mean to be biased but the only reason i pick the 5 series is because it has taken the crown away from the e-class of being "The fastest Indian production car"
0 to 100 in 7.5 seconds. It has created history in a small way

Suzuki SX4 definitely.

At 7 odd lacs you get climate control, ABS, airbags, 16 Inch Alloys and what not, this car redefined "value for money" and made its competitors wake up from their deep slumber.

Totally , I think Hyundai i10 is the next "big" thing with a Multinational Automotive brand manufacturing and launching its product first in india and then the other countries as an export.

Exactly... main factor is, it forced other companies to offer abs, airbags too... it was a boom in auto market.
haha, surprise voted SX4 not hyundai i10. Voted for what they deserves.

Its not like Hyundai don't rules for me, It still rules for my car and verna (may be my future car). Solid performance and it never hurts my pocket in terms of running cost. can't comment on i30 (if it proves to be good then i will book it).

I don't the mention of the Swift Diesel in the poll. I think it merits inclusion in the list and will also get my vote. I bought one you see

Swift D can be counted as variant of the year not new car of the year as Swift has been around for quite some time.

My vote goes to Suzuki SX4 for introducing new features at the price range and redefining the segment.

i voted for bmw 5 series

reasons:
1. driver's car
2. sheer driving pleasure
3. looks awesome
4. fully loaded with every possible feature be it safety, luxury etc.
5. very fast and diesel engine is a beast. diesels engine provides decent fuel efficiency too.
