I think "Manufacturer of the year 2008' is awarded to company performance during 2007- For that i vote for Suzuki. For Introducing Swift diesel and SX4 with huge success.

TATA 1L car should be counted for the 2009 awards. For eg: car of the year 2008 is chosen from cars launched in 2007. if not so, TATA deserves it for the 1L car.

My vote definitely goes to Suzuki/Maruti for Swift DDiS and SX4. They've had a roaring success and they deserve every bit of it! Keep it up Maruti Suzuki for many more years to come!

i voted for MUL-SUZUKI...

it takes a lot of efforts to maintain ones numero uno position for such a long time and back it with top rankings consistently on after sales/service satisfaction surveys also...

and in the recent times, MUL-SUZUKI has also started offering much more contemporary products like SWIFT,SX4,NEW VITARA at much more tempting prices than competition....

way to go MUL - SUZUKI...

Voted for Suzuki as they have bought newer models and the vehicles launched were competitively priced compared to other compaines. The resale value of their vehicles were also good. The spare parts availability and *** of Suzuki was better than their competitors.

I voted for Suzuki for launching the Swift Diesel which has revolutionised the diesel hatch segment and for launching the SX4 which has given Honda a run for its money.

My vote goes to Chevrolet because they did lot of aggressive launches in india If its success or failure. For Indian condition I like GM cars for best build and ride. They are the ones who came with long warranty with service offers. GM has shown very good progress in graph.

All the best GM!

Regards,

Ravi.

Voted for Suzuki 'cause they are the ones who brought in life saving Safety features as Standard in top end variants of their new launches. They even forced the competition to offer safety features.

Most definitely....

....for the SX4 and the Swift VDi, full credit to Suzuki. There's another side to it though. It depends purely on what segment you focus on. For the small hatch segment, you've got Hyundai for the wonderful i10. For the premium hatch and small sedan markets you have Suzuki for two fantastic products. Move up a little higher and the Optra Magnum Diesel surely calls for some credit to GM, the turnaround is remarkable while the '08 Accord will soon draw some applause in favour of Honda. If you look at high-end luxury, the entry of BMW is surely a landmark no one can ignore...it was high time MB's monopoly was purged. So you see my point, everyone's doing a their bit in the Indian market, IMO its just that Suzuki's effort is more significant and commendable for the average Indian buyer.

I voted Suzuki, for Swiftly turning things around - a manufacturer selling outdated, decade-old designs suddenly turned into the one with the most current models being launched at down-to-earth prices. Build quality may have suffered, but you cant have the cake and eat it to.

For a manufacturer whose position as Numero Uno was under severe threat from Hyundai and Tata, the turnaround in the last one year was phenomenal. To the extent that competition is either gasping for breath (Hyundai) or is preparing to throw everything they have into the fight (Tata).

Next year may be the year of Tata Motors, or the year that they lost the battle completely.

As Wolg said, Tata had shown some character, evethough I wouldn't buy a Tata. After all the issues and problems, they are doing their job without any hiccups in the business and continue to impress.

There should be a poll for Worst Car Manufacturer as well! If it is i would vote for Hyundai for their complacency being a big player with capabilities (fyi, i own a Santro at home!)
