One of my close friends has a Getz Prime 1.1 GVS. He bought the car from Trident in Oct and has driven around 2k km so far. No problems at all. In fact, he says the mileage is improving with every tankfull. Since the Getz is built to be exported to Europe and it has the proven Santro engine, it should be able to take quite a pounding. i guess the problems stated may be one-off cases

guys,

thanks for all the replies. i have now finalized swift diesel (ldi) and the dealer has promised me the delivery of the car within this month, since I am flexible with the color options.

only bad thing is that i have a swift petrol (Silky silver) and now will most probably get the same silver color swift diesel - white carries more waiting time which I cannot afford anyway.

regards,
karthik.

I own a year old Getz with 10k on Odo and have faced NO problems in terms of reliability or built quality.

Getz as a vehicle was concieved with superior built quality. It was initially aimed at European markets in the premium Hatch segment. Everything in the car feels well built though slightly austere.

Have a look at the 2007 JD power for Asia. Getz was ranked Highest (least number of problems) in its category

Finalized the Swift LDi

I have finally purchased the Swift LDi and am going to get the delivery of silver one tomorrow. Bad part is that the Swift petrol that I already have is also silver color. So, now I have the Swift LDi-Swift Vxi Silky Silver combo with me

Good part is that I managed to get the car in 2 weeks from the date of booking at Bangalore thro a reference, whereas each and every dealer was quoting more than 2 months wait time. In Coimbatore, Ambal auto is not even willing to take the booking for Swift Diesel (any variant) - talk about the diesel crazy south ...
