If you ask me, Ford Endevour's USP is that the Toyota Fortuner hasn't been launched yet. Give similar pricing, I can't think of any reason why someone whould choose an Endevour over the Fortner when it comes with independent rear suspension and Full-time Four wheel drive with a center differential.

Endeavor is way overpriced. It has horrible equipment levels for its price, ride is below par, spares are costly. Actually Endeavor 3.0 is no match for Captiva (overall). Santa Fe will kill it.

If one plans to do serious off roading, Pajero at 18 lacs is the best bet.

However, if you are Torquemister and are obsessed with size, this SUV is for you.

Agree completely. I was at the Mitsu dealership the other day and for 18 lacks I think the Pajero 2.8 is a better buy than the Endy in all aspects except for the TDCi engine. After the price cut and the increased equipment levels, I think the Pajero 2.8 is the best true body-on-frame off-roader out there in the price range. I am not including the cute utes like Captiva, Santa Fe, x-trail, etc.

The other good news is that the mitsu dealer said that I could order the Pajero 2.8 without the clown paint. It will take two months to do a special order to get it in a single color. But I wait eagerly for Toyota to deliver the Fortuner before I cut the check.

New Endeavour 3L ??

Guys,
I just saw an advert in April's TG - the new Endeavour 3L 4x4. the advert claims it comes with a 3.0L duratorq TDCi engine, 156 Ps of Power, 380Nm of torque, GC 210mm, ramp breakover angle 24 degrees and wheelbase of 2860 MM.

could this engine be more powerful than the 2.5L - thats got 330Nm torque and 141horses (compared to 154 in the 3L)
Strange - the way ford workS!

note to mods: incase this is in the wrong section - please move it to the appropriate one. Danke!

But why complain? Everything about the vehicle itself is about APPEAL - it looks great and now it has an engine to match its show.

It may be a bit uncomfortable, but then which vehicle is perfect in all respects? This truck outsells everything else in the premium SUV market - obviously people want to be noticed and this vehicle will never disappoint you on that count. That market is more than willing to pay a premium for a more powerful engine.

Horses for courses.

like steeroid said, this car is attention grabbing. saying that it is a little uncomfortable, however, is a little understatement.

the 2.5 litre endeavour is surprisingly quick. cruising at a 100kmph in 5th is the norm, with a large amount of reserve left for overtaking maneuvers.

if the torque has gone up by this amount in the 3 litre, the endeavour should be even more fun.

paying 2 more lakhs for it....I'll have to think about it.

Autocar rated it as their pick over the aging Pajero. For me somehow the Pajero still thrills

Lol whats with their fetish for leaf shocks ?

The one and only reason why the endy sells is its looks, hefty looking and huge street presence. In all other areas its nothing nice to say about it.
