NIce job on the construction, of the replica [can use that as it looks really good]what shocks is it running??
And seriously it's good to a leagl car , so now all of us looking at building something like this will have to hunt 118NEs and get going... may be in a years time we all can meet up for a Lotus & meet...

This beauty has been very tastefully created. Is the owner planning to do some rounds on the track ?

That would be very interesting to see how it does

Wow! Even the Registration number says "CAT" as in Caterham.

I would really like to read a comprehensive report on the handling of this barchetta. I've heard caterham is called the "widow maker" in the olden days for its edgy handling. I'd like to know how this reproduction fares in corners.

Good example of transferring creative imagination into reality. This art work needs sound appreciation. We can just only imagine how much hard work and pain must have owners taken to make it real and very few people of earth can take this pain.

Hats off to you Mathew for you great work. cheers:

Hi mathew, good to see the photos of your car. I hope you dont mind sharing some of the details that you had shared with me earlier. Below as quoted by mr mathew who was kind enough to let me see his car next time i am around the place where he stays.

"The car has a spaceframe chassis. Body was built in aluminium and FRP. The engine is a Suzuki G13B twin cam with four CV carbs, a Four into one stainlless steel exhaust system, and a carbon fibre dashboard.

14x6 alloy wheels with 185x14 Goodyear F1's in front and 195x14 at the rear. The kerb weight of the car is around 380-400kgs. Took about 1 1/2 years to build it."

I think this was about the blue car that he owns.

@mathew57
glad you're on the thread.

a kerb weight of 380kgs with a suzie twin cam engine
I would love to know the 0-100 timings on this one.

that low kerb weight should also help around corners right?
is the suspension tuned for ride or handling? please, please... let it be the latter.

are there more detailed pics of the mechanicals?

Mathew , very very hot Looking stuff you have there brother. Just a question, i know you did this for yourself, but would you also take in orders for others as in made-on-orders for others. Just a rough cost of this beauty?? This is surely one of the collectibles.
