You are correct man. Toyota/Honda are not ment for the Common man. Its only for Premium Brand people. Even Huyndai-Ford has more market share than Toyota. Toyota never wanna give some thing good in Indian Market.

I think Honda can look for launching the AVANZA.

The price tag is very high I believe. For this small car it will be more than 6Laks. I dont think so Indian Customer will prefer that.

Awesome pics. However I doubt - considering the market that Toyota will launch this car in India this year. Historically they have been a slow mover - so their track record is not encouraging.

Having said that its a well built beautiful car perfect for our city roads. My only concern is the pricing - I am pretty certain it will be priced in the Fabia/Jazz (~ 7 lakh) territory.

@sowmya, Yes I read that article too.

The three car manufacturers have unique features in their cars. When they join, the combined product will be a real good one.

A winner for sure if only prices right. Look at what happened to Corolla.

Have seen the car in real in Switzerland & Germany, typical Toyota quality and build.

I don't how would the pricing in India be, the car is small in size and priced equilent and above the swift for some variants.

Don't know how will people go by this in India?

Where is toyota's small car for the indian market?

anyways, today we had to give our prius for a windshield replacement, and had about an hour to kill in the toyota showroom.
I took some snaps of one of their best-selling models - the Aygo.
(I also have similar pics of the yaris, and will upload if you guys want to see it)

Classified as an environmentally friendly car it has no ownership tax and free parking anywhere in the city you reside. Also, when driving on a tolled road, the car is allowed to pass for free.

The car seats four adults comfortably, but you can squeeze 5 for the shorter trips.

If brought to India, how well would aygo sell?
Also, going by the size of the car, it would be competition for santro/i10/spark etc.
To compete with swift/getz/polo/fabia/i20 toyota would need to bring the yaris. (I can upload photos of the yaris if you guys want it)

cheers

Cool dash! definitely better looking than the a-star or the i10. Interesting to see the flared wheel arches integrating into the bumper. Pricing would be key in this segment, the premium may not matter to a buyer of a second car or one who is upgrading. In any case let the news come out officially

They would have to rework the rear windows. it looks like the butterfly kind found on the rearmost of Qualis and kind. This would need to be made as retractable to work in india

NIce pics there. It looks good and might compete with i10 if priced properly.

Upload the pics for Yaris mate.

this is indeed going to hit Jazz, if they launch it in atleast 1.2 L engine capacity. Else it will be considered underpowered and will not be able to match Jazz.

Will Toyota sit idle while Honda is minting money, may be yes, they arent competing with Honda City anyway.

Its the Yaris hatchback that competes with the Jazz.

Aygo is a A-star sized car with a 3 cylinder 1 liter engine. Their best bet is to slot it a notch ortwo below the i-10.

Like the Astar this is designed for European youth and the backseat is cramped.
