Octavia > Jetta > Superb > Passat > A4

Btw, Excellent move by Audi.
With future plans in consideration, it could very well be like this:

Up!>Fabia>Polo>Polo Sedan>Octavia>Jetta>Superb>Passat>A4>A6>A8

with Q7 et al in a league of their own!

That's the general line up for the VW range anyways.

Ps. The A4 2.0 tdi and 2.0 Fsi are CKDs. The 3.2 Fsi is a CBU so i expect the 3.0 Tdi to be the same.

Just talked with the Audi dealer, confirmed about the availability of A4 3.0TDI Quattro. Two versions, priced at 37.5L ex- showroom Cochin for the base one, 3.5L extra for the MMI- parking sensor, etc. package. Cars available on order within 15- 20 days, but the problem is that the A6 2.7TDI goes for around 40L.

Just spoke to Audi Mumbai. There is NO update on the 3.0 TDI. No pricing, nothing.

Well, that's utterly confusing. No way something sold down in Kerala is not available in Mumbai. The configuration option at Audi India site also shows A4 in 3.0TDI.

If something was not available, then why would the dealer quote a price and talk about delivery periods and options? And if it was available, why would a dealer turn someone off by saying it was not available? Maybe them misguiding us both? And if yes, to what purpose?

He won't misguide me. I'v booked an Audi 2.0 TDI with him. Delivery is in a week. lol. He said there is no pricing out even. Besides MMI will be standard on the 3.0 It should come with similar levels of trim as the 3.2.

Even the 2.0 comes with the MMI!

Well, in that case, if you are so sure, the Cochin dealer might be confused. Let me recheck.

Typical Audi dilemma; they keep changing specs & variants to often that everyone ends up confused. Including the dealers! Why can't they maintain a level of simplicity, standardisation and a better communication link with their dealers?

No Idea. The issue is they put it up the website. They are not changing thier lineup, just expanding it. They probably realised that the 3.2 being a huge premuim over the 2.0, those that wanted the A4 with a more springy petrol heart would look elsewhere, hence they put in the 180 bhp petrol at the same price point as the 2.0 TDi , to give more options. Besides the 3.0 was always to come... just wish it would have come by now...would have gone for it..
