I travel almost 18 KMS everyday to work. I pass by the most crowded areas of the city (Sheshadripuram, Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon park, double road, wilson garden, Jaynagar, Bannerghatta RD) and i see more of ANHC and Ford Ikon Diesel. I have seen very few Lineas. I guess the Linea wave is catching up. But as of now its ANHC and Ford Ikon diesel.

My work place also happens to be next to a Ford showroom and everyday i get to see atleast 3 to 4 Ikon diesel waiting for delivery.I feel the sales of Fiesta Diesel has taken a hit because i see more Fiesta Petrols (especially the sports version) on road.

I guess great products are receiving the kind of response they deserve.

Way to go for Tdci and Multijet

Let's not overlook the fact that the Ikon is much cheaper than the Linea as well. Ford has done a fantastic job with pricing the Ikon TDCi; sheer value for money and a straight match to the Indigo.

the fiesta diesel was sure to take a hit when you get the same engine at a lower price in form of the ikon TDCi !!
at my place in kerala, its more of ikon TDCi,ANHC then coming to petrol fiestas and lastly linea but i do feel the lineas are increasing !!

Out here in Hyd its definately Linea's not the Icon TDCI, though Ford has done a brilliant job of the pricing and engine, IMHO the Ikon looks dated. You are trying to push a car which has been on the streets for a decade(correct me if I am wrong). It's time to move on, for Ford.

But there are definately a lot more ANHC than Linea's.

IMO, it is better value for money than the Swift VDI too. I dont see anything lacking in it other than the fact that Swift offers a compact size(looks are subjective).

the reason I choose Ikon Tdci over the Swift. It is sheer value for money and despite being decade old its still amongst one of the better built cars in the segment.

After a rather long trip across Kerala i was able to spot a large number of the 'new' Ikons. Not at all surprising was the fact that they were ALL TDCis. Kerala being diesel-country this didnt strike me as odd.

I got to see a really large number of VWs as well on the roads, something which wasnt all too prominent in Bangalore. Lineas, i hardly say any in Kerala, although they do seem to be popular here in Bangalore.

i bought an ikon tdci around a month ago and have already covered more than 2000 kms in it.. the engine is amazing, very responsive and the car is (as expected) an awesome handler.. i own the fiesta tdci as well since the last 3 years, so went ahead with the ikon without a single doubt in my mind..

Seeing the success of Ikon TDCI & fall in sales of Fiesta TDCI, ford should bring out a feature rich version of Ikon. Even at 50K more, this car will sell!
