A neat scoop Sid! Great to know that MUL is introducing 'drive-by-wire' technology.

To minimize cannibalisation of Ritz sales & to maintain a level of differentiation. @ Sid : As always, great scoop.

So now, the customers will have Estilo, A-star, old Wagon R (??) and new Wagon R to chose from. Somehow, thats not as exciting as it sounds.

Very useful piece of information Sid. Looking at the contribution of Sid over the last few months he richly deserves the distinguished bhpian status (and vasudeva too).

Sid excellent work (as usual), Sid you seem to know Maruti well, whats the story with the new Omni which is likely to be out by sep oct this year. Is it similar to the present omni or is it going to be the APV or Landis.

Sorry guys for going OT

Agreed, Since the price variation among these is not that big, they should just drop the older models keeping the price in line. this would also encourage people to buy better cars with slight increase in price making safety as standard.

So you don't get a situation like I did:

One more great one by Sid.
I love the Wagon. Hope they get some of the features from the new Japanese model.

great scoop as usual, all one needs to do is wait for your scoop to get a complete run down on a new entrant even before others get wind of it.
I hope the new WagonR is more attractive and proportionate, with even touches of curves and angles, and not a half hearted attempt like the new estilo, I wonder what Maruti designers drove to work that day - Xylo. both look distastefull. I think the earlier version looked more subtle. flared arches and overhangs on punny tires are out of balance.

Did I read 4 speed Automatic? Thats a warm welcome. Thats one area Muruti is really lagging behind. Auto lovers will have more choice then. Maruti should introduce AT in other models as well [Read Ritz, Swift].

REgards!

This new model will, most probably, be the WagonR+ (WagonR Wide) or WagonR Solio in Japan?
