5.61 on-road actually. Apart from the mud flaps and floor mats, i got a remote locking- that too after quite a bit of haggling. The dealer was more inclined towards sunfilm, but I wanted to put in my own...

@bapu- The 6.10 at Mehsana seems to be the pre-discount price (hyundai announced 4.99 ex-showroom for the rocket in June- all over India), not sure if the dealer is trying to push his luck, or if this is a pre-discounted piece that he had in stock.

Phoenix.. you are lucky to get something out of the dealer. The dealer I dealt with offered nothing except Mats and mud flaps. Not even willing to budge an inch. I always felt the dealers did nothing to promote Getz at any time. One of the reasons for the model to flop.

Bapu-: Even if its pre-discounted stock, they are selling at 4.99L ex-showroom. I think he's trying to make a good profit out of it. Try haggling.

They have ready availability of stock. The price you got quoted could be of the time when the Rs.4.99 Lacs scheme was going on.

Hope that helps.
but i believe it still is available on discounted rates, may be dealer is taking one on ride, a friend brought getz d at discounted rates few weeks back, so just need to bargain with them and get firm to buy only with discounted rates.

That is sad!! There goes the resale value of my car.

I hope there would not be any issues with spare parts and servicing as I intend to keep my Getz 1.3 for a long term.

I went to the Advaith Hyundai showroom in bangalore, millers road and i was told that the getz diesel(not sure about petrol) is no longer in production cause of the launch of the i20 diesel. But what he said didnt sound very convincing and i felt that he was pressing hard to sell the i20 diesel to my dad.

Hard to believe the premature death of a real diesel car.

Just checked up on dealers to reconfirm on this thread. Am looking at buying a new car though, but that's another story.

When i went to a Hyundai showroom in Kolkata during negotiations, payment etc for my i10, i always saw 3-4 getz being delivered everyday (written on a big 'deliveries today' board), more than i20 and almost same as i10. When I asked my salesman, he said he cannot comment officially about pulling the plug on getz, but later said that they are selling getz under heavy discounts and pushing the i20 to prospective getz customers.

well, new a days there are lots of new petrol 1.1 getz seen on road, one or two being 1.3, so dont know why is companyeying to discontinue getz petrol completely, but it might be as news around.
I believe right pricing as of now by discounted prices is working fo hyundai to sell that many getz which didnt cause of higher pricing.

Why would a company announce that a particular model will be pulled out 2 years later? Wouldn't that kill all potential sales of that car? That's like shooting oneself in the foot unless that's exactly what Hyundai wants. I think they deliberately made this statement to push prospective Getz buyers onto i20.

if Getz and i20 exist side by side in India, then Getz wont let i20 grow!

so thats why HMIL decided to phase out Getz.

in UAE, hyundai has still not introduced i20 inspite of selling i10 and i30. they are still selling Getz in good numbers.

Getz sold in UAE is 1.3 and 1.6 ltr engines!

Imagine the product's life, had it been MUL's product! A couple of facelifts would have already happened!
