Think this is a wrong info. Can someone confirm this.

Innova VX: BSIII or wait for BS IV?

Hi Members,

From a long list of choice of cars, I have narrowed on the Toyota Innova VX. Everything looks fine, except for the BS IV regulation that seems to become effective from the 1st April, 2010.

My question is:

(1). Should I buy the BS III compliant Innova or wait till April 2010 and purchase the BS IV compliant one? There would be a price hike of about INR 30K.

(2). If I'm to sell the vehicle later, say, five years later, would the resale value be adversely affected?

The dealers are of course trying to push me for the BS III compliant Innova, even mentioning about a price hike by as much as INR 50K.

Please advice me.

Thanks and regards,

Nitin.

If you don't need a car urgently, it won't hurt to wait 2 months more. There are also rumours about Innova to launch a A/T along with the BSIV update. Whatever happens, do go in for captain seats

Nitin, no harm in waiting as the launch is just around the corner. Rumours abound that the Innova will finally be equipped with an intercooler. That alone will be worth the wait.

Just had some update on the Innova: The BS-IV model would have an intercooler and a new type of catalytic converter, however there would not be any scoop on the bonnet like SUVs.

Will there be a price hike? I guess not because if there is the gap between the Xylo and the Innova will widen further and the Innova will loose the fleet sales.

BS4 Innova with Intercooler, Turbocharger & 109bhp. Any additional info?

My apologies to the Moderators and everybody in general for starting a new thread. yesterday I had posted this in the other thread that I'd started-

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/suvs-m...x-queries.html

but didn't get any replies. This is urgent as I may have to change my booking asap. I searched around the net but didn't get much info either. So can anybody help me out?--

My Dealer just called to inquire if i wanted a BS4 Innova. ( On 31st March, I had booked a BS3 Innova Vx) Apparently it's got an Intercooler and a Turbocharger. He says it'll be a bit more expensive but didn't have full details and also didn't know if it would be more powerful. Going through the net, it seems that the output will now be 109bhp as opposed to the earlier 102 bhp.

New Toyota Innova BS4 Model Specifications And Price In India

What do u think, Team? Should i go in for the BS4 version? (Not strictly required in my small town) I'm thinking improved performance and better resale value after 5-6 years also hopefully a litttle different interiors and exteriors to distinguish it from the BS3 version.

Any Info and advices? Much appreciate it-

Puffy

@Puff - If I were you, I would think this way, can I afford more than 4 Lakh loan to be paid (from your earlier post), then I'll go for it; plus I get a new BSIV model that I can be proud from the heart.

However looking at the downside, 7 BHP increase is peanuts & can be marginally noticed from the regular Innova (provided the cosmetics don't change) & if the money involved is considerable, say 10% or so, then I would say a big NO & stick with BS III. Though the BS III diesel shouldn't affect the BS IV engines, I don't want my new Innova to be spoiled; and if I still need the BS IV version, I would wait & watch.
