I forgot to mention that figures highlighted in green refer to the segment leader.
Sorry about that.

Let me know your views and what you infer from these figures.

Great Work !
Strange to see that the CR-V sold 77 units in August .
The number was 0 in Apr-Jun .
Moreover Laura is picking up good pace.

few facts which caught my eye was..
In the Hot hatch segment . Its surprising to see Ritz+ swift down by 10% MOM
Honda sales of ANHC+JAZZ down by 18% MOM.
Fiat stabilizing Linea & Punto closely at 900 & 1800 units / month
Fortuner mile ahead of the rest

wonderful! This is quite detailed.

Most of the shifts in segment leaders are so marked that seems like the buyers decide, that we'll start buying these cars now on.

- The Santro has done good numbers this month with an increase in about 2000 units sold which works out to an increase of roughly 50%. This is without any decrease in i10 numbers. I wonder what caused this sudden increase in sales.

- Ritz hasn't caused a huge dent in either Wagon-R or Swift sales. Sales have declined around 50% since launch.

- Swift sales jumped 3000 units in July. I wonder what caused this. Maybe people waiting for the Ritz before buying a new Swift decided to stick with the Swift.

- Fiat sold 11 Palios this month. I guess the Palio is on its way out.

- i20 sales have tripled since launch. I guess this is due to the engine options offered as well as increased advertising.

- The Camry sold as much as the Sonata.

- CRV sales up again and selling a little less than the Pajero. I don't understand how a car that sold 282 units one month, sells 0 units the next. Is there a supply problem?

Great Work Karpusv

C class is the leader in its segment. A4 has overtaken 3 series in August - maybe due to aggressive discounting. Increased competition in luxury cars have forced the manufacturers to offer discounts which is great news for buyers.

5 series has whipped ageing E class - no surprises here, but I see a role reversal once the new E joins the battle. Sadly the understated A6 has become a minor player though as a luxury car it is better than 5 series.

7 Series has a slender lead over S class, mainly due to the new model. But in long run, S Class will regain its No. 1 position. Sadly A8 has been reduced to an 'also ran'.

In premium SUV segment - BMW and Audi are the main contenders with M Class no where in sight.

Fortuner has taken the top spot in its segment and will remain there for quite some time.
