New SX4 VVT brochure

Whats the difference between VVT engine and earlier engine of SX4. One can currently get 50k discount on older model.

Is it worth losing 50k + increased price (assumed) for new SX4 or should I go in for previous model?

I get the feeling this VVT setup is more FE oriented.

104ps (102bhp) @ 5600 from 1.6ltrs is not an impressive figure especially when the i-vtec on the City does 118ps (115bhp) @ 6600 from 1.5ltrs.

Ahem, Maruti speaks of men and gentlemen, but with the automatic gearbox, the high seating position and the good ground clearance, the new SX4 looks a good choice for women drivers!

Probably that is what is meant by the catch line, "Men are back", (in the back seat)

I am glad the SX4 hasnt changed much! Was quite concerned, since I had purchased mine just a year back!

This stupid bumper and bodykit ruins the lovely 190mm SUVish GC of the SX4. Let's see how gurgaon rains clobber them new SX4's

Till i see the car in the flesh and take a test drive, i'll reserve judgement. I prefer the alloys in my SX4.

Scoop master is back again.Thanks sid.

Glad that SX4 had been through the good phase of modification(10 spoke alloys,honey chrome grill,Usb port,two tone dash,wooden finish interiors & VVT,AT.), as maruthi does only few cosmetic mods.

SX4 doesn't go wrong as far as pricing is concerned unlike the Honda.

Any idea what is the City's power at say 5600 rpm ? Should be in a comparitive range i guess.

When would you ever cross 4500-5000 rpm band in normal driving (city or highway) ? I suppose Never.

IMO, it is pointless to look for BHP numbers beyond a certain rpm range. More power & torque at lower rpms is what makes a difference.

The Only bit that's exciting is the Auto, but this is too little too late - Won't work this time round. City has left it behing and the only thing this has over the Linea is the Auto and the Linea on the other hand has much much more. Even the Manza is more spacious.

Maruti has ruined the engine, 103 BHP @5600prm. Very conservative cam profile. even the older city had more power. But the good new is the VVT is here. so another few thousand [for a new cam] and we has a another performance car from Maruti [after the esteem and Baleno]

Yes...seems to be nothing special for a re-launch. Anybody has a idea why could not they use a K16? Why they want to continue with M series ? what is so special in it ?
