Nithin Bagh, a user of this forum, booked a Safari Dicor LX 4X4....only to be told AFTER he paid the booking amount that Alloys were NO LONGER available on the LX even though they advertise that Alloys are standard across all 4X4 models.

I am not sure if they have made adjustments to the LX 4X4's price to reflect this change in specifications, but if they havent its daylight robbery. In which case I am not surprised that they've removed the headlamp levellers from the Sx/Gsx.

BTW, I suggest you read this thread before deciding to buy a Tata product:

I could not read that thread either. BTW, headlight leveller is supposedly E-III requirement and should be available on all E-III vehicles.

Spoke with Nithin..apparently the price difference between an LX 4X2 and LX 4X4 is much lower than the price diff between an EX 4X2 and EX 4X4. Alloys are available for the LX 4X4 at Rs.12,000 more, which is fair enough.

Alloys at just 12K? Isn't that really cheap? If you go out in market for alloys, minimum they start at is 15K for cars. Is there any difference in Safari alloys and other alloys?

Guyz...this is the thread for the Tata Indigo. You can discuss about the Safari in its appropriate thread.

Well i found this on web "HLL is a mandatory regulation which will be enforced from April 2005 in all categories of cars." Afterthat i spoke to dealer and they said ARAI in Pune has objection on TATA's cars (the bulb they have used) thus it has been stopped till nov and afterthat it will start coming into euro-III cars. :-) I dont believe on this as all other cars are giving this and TATA is NOT, why ?

I got a mail from TATA brand manager and he said -
BSIII (EIII) norms relate to the emission norms of the enigine only. Here too, we meet the specified norms. The BSIII emission norms came into effect from 1 April, 2005 and our vehicles were designed and manufactured to meet those norms from that date. The CMVR norms for headlamp leveling device norms came into effect from 1 October 2005 and we have complied accordingly.

That means they were selling vehicle from apr-oct without giving all euro-III norms and charging us for euro-IIII. Great TATA :-)
