It looks stunning, much like Polo but bigger. Apparently it was fast, so my guess is 1.6 Diesel. By the way is it coming to India?

Mods : I tried searching the threads for Golf, but could not find any. Please remove / merge in case this thread is duplicate.

Does Chakan comes under MH14 RTO?

Great Scoop! Most probably the Vento Diesel engine is the field test for them, which then just hops on to Golf for an India Launch, late next year!
It is only a logical follow-up now of when VW announces the 1.2/1.4/1.6 TSI options for India.

Yes, it does.. And I hope it's a test-drive vehicle from the factory. Wishing this would come to India soon enough.

Kurt Rippholz, Spokesperson VW India: Golf is a segment above the Polo. India is a country where the customer is not willing to pay a higher amount for a hatchback. He’d buy a sedan. So the Golf wouldn’t make sense.

Hello,
Today morning saw the same Golf being tested.
Its a diesel . Has a TDI marking .
The car was being driven like crazy by the tester .
Have managed to click some photos.
Also have tried to take some pics of the dash and the central UI.

Very nice scoop, but the car looks like a company imported vehicle, does not seem to be 'a test car'. looks very good though.

Why not, a sizable number of fellow Bhpian's have spotted it in Blr/Pune. It has the Company test number plate rather than an imported vehicle plate and its an RHD model (in fact the interior pics show some masking on the dash too). Lets positively hope that the Golf is indeed brought in here :-). Having said that there is never been any murmurs before about the possibility of golf coming to India unlike regular cases where there is always some murmur, or has there been some talks about it ?
